To be clear, I purchased this for the individually wrapped and sealed hard candies not the soft caramels. The Soft caramels are OK but the hard candies are to die for. Also the sealed wrappers are the way to go these days.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Werther’s original hard candy is already the best, but with apple swirls it’s even better. These hard candies remind me of fresh caramel apples. The soft caramel flavors are a perfect blend of buttery caramel with just the right hint of apple or pumpkin spice. The soft caramel apple was my favorite. Even though it’s mid-summer and pretty humid, all the candies were easily unwrapped with nothing sticking to the wrapper. Werther’s are nothing like other hard candies; the flavor is rich and yummy. This was a generous bag of candies to share, but they won’t last long once they’re out in the candy dish and everyone tries them, then comes back for more.

The soft ones were nice and soft exactly what you would expect. A couple of pieces is more than enough to curb an appetite. I love this candy but the caramels always stick to the paper and you end up throwing most away. I have purchased 3 bags and had to freeze the caramels to unwrap them. On the upside, good taste not at all overpowering.

Taste is great but some of the candy had melted and was hard to remove from wrapper.

I hadn't really paid attention to the flavors and textures on the package, I just saw fall thing and was like hopefully these are good. Every one I've tried to open has been impossible with wrapper ending up in the candy that I have to put in my mouth to dissolve it enough to pick out the wrapper tearing's. On top of that the apple flavor is just overpowering. I'll keep them in my fridge and offer them to guests but they will likely end up in the trash in 3-4 years when I am sick of seeing them.

I was so excited to see these return this year. They are such a good value and delicious. Sadly, this year I have not had the same experience. My asst bag only had pumpkin flavored caramels in it. There were none of the apples which are my favorite. according to the package, there should have been approximately 40. Also, several of the pumpkin flavored caramels were stuck together in one big caramel clump unwrapped. Rather than return to the store for them just to toss, I wrote the Werthers brand. The said it was a packaging issue they were addressing. They also offered to send me coupons to buy at another retailer, since all the bags came from the same batch and were probably all the same issue.

The soft candies were ok but the hard candy was not my cup of tea. Pretty bad.

I was so disappointed to find only about 9-10% pumpkin spice and the rest apple. But, the caramel apple flavor was predominantly green apple flavor. Great for those who love sour green apple, not great for someone looking to enjoy caramel apple or pumpkin flavor. I threw them out.

Worst candy to unwrap melted in paper, not worthy of the taste. Awful! Will not ever purchase again.
