Laundry Center Review

My laundry center is only eight months old and the touch panel on my washer is malfunctioning. I’m very disappointed because I really love the idea behind the laundry center. It fits in my laundry room area perfectly. I’ve contacted LG and now I’m waiting for a local repair person to repair my washer. I am not sure how long the repair process will take, parts may need to be ordered. Not very happy with the quality and dependability of this product and I will not buy another LG product.

Good, so far!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought this unit from Costco, so there was a delay of several weeks between the purchase date and the installation date. We were replacing a Samsung set that we'd had for around five years. The LG unit doesn't have as many built-in cycles as we're used to, and while additional cycles similar to those on the Samsung can be accessed and downloaded using the ThinQ app, that isn't very convenient when those downloadable cycles happen to be the ones we use most often. It would be great if the unit had a few "user-programmable" settings that could be added and that would remain available without having to find and download them every time.

Love it so far

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We purchased the washtower because we are remodeling our small laundry room and where looking for a stackable unit. I am very impressed with how the machine can basically set everything from water temp, cycle time , etc. with the push of 1 button. It takes all the guesswork out of washing and drying clothes. Very nice machine so far with great extra features.

I've had my machine for a little over a year now and have tried trouble shooting before leaving any reviews in case of user error, but I keep noticing the same things. The dryer portion does not dry thoroughly if you're doing more than one load of laundry per day without changing the settings(bedding setting works best I've found). The washer portion worked fine for a few months then stopped draining entirely leaving clothes sopping wet. Had a tech come from where we bought it and he said there was nothing wrong with the machine. I have to empty the front drain of water after every load so that it would drain properly. When the wash first starts half of the soap is wasted right into the door gaskets because the jets trickle down the glass regardless of how full or empty the drum is. I've found work around but would not recommend this machine to anyone looking. Tl;dr decent machine if you don't mind DIY workarounds to get the best use out of it. Slim and attractive design.

Love my new machine!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My old LG was unable to be fixed after 10 years so I looked for a new model. We needed a stack due to space limitations. It was very hard to find the Wash Tower in the stores probably due to covid. I finally found one gas model at an independent store in Los Angeles. It was installed and went right to work! It is very quiet and washes the clothes efficiently. I'm waiting for my tech savvy son to hook my up with the ThinQ technology.

Missing features and wants to shrink my clothes

I like that this product is space saving, but that's about where my liking of it ends. I miss the old LG washer and dryer that I had to leave behind at my old house. This unit thinks it knows what I want, but it's almost always wrong. It insists on drying my "tumble dry low" clothes on high! Until it can read care labels, I want it to stop telling me that it knows best! I only use the "Timed Dry" option because all the sensor dry options force too high a drying temp or are intended to stop before the items are completely dry. It's also missing critical features like "Rinse and Spin." When a load finishes washing still sudsy (which happens often), I have to start the cycle from scratch because there is no option to only rinse again! Talking about wasting resources. There is an option to add an extra rinse to a full wash cycle, which I often do, but sometimes one extra rinse wasn't enough to remove the suds. I'm using less HE detergent than recommended so I really don't know what the problem is. I really do want my old LG washer and dryer back (but in space-saving form), that had a simple "Custom Program" button and useful features like "Delay Start." I do not want to drive my washer and dryer with a smartphone! What's the point of being able to control it with a smartphone from anywhere in the world when you have to be within arm's reach in order to load it??

what a difference!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Replaced old “standard type” washer and dryer with the combined tower, what a difference! Far less water, noise and drying time. 2 drawbacks; have to dry the washer seal every time and it is super heavy so install was challenging up to 2nd floor.

Outstanding stackable washer/dryer

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We purchased the LG stacked washer-dryer for features including 1) center controls --- a HUGE PLUS and unique among competitive "stackables," & 2) above average tub sizes -- 4.5 Cu. Ft. washer, 7.1 Cu. Ft. gas dryer. Both features are exceptionally functional, useful and of great value. In 1st month of use, it performs very well and meets expectations. We strongly recommend it to potential customers. And, its very quiet too.

I LOVE IT!!!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought it last month, and debated between this LG and another unit that also has excellent reviews. One Saturday morning, I was listening to "Home with Dean Sharp" (the "House Whisperer") on the radio and, voila! In this broadcast, he discussed laundry centers -- and this one received a rave review. That sold me. And now, the unit has sold me. I LOVE IT!!!

Great example on modern tech ease removing key fea

We have had this set for a few months now. Key features are missing and no matter the settings even with steam things are coming out of the dryer crunchy and wrinkly. No whites cycle on washer. No ability to set water temp to cold and have it stay that way as a default for your wash. No air fluff on the dryer. In fact, their dry sensors are so"advanced" that the dryer just shuts off when you try to put something in to fluff it. No time dry settings.
