Within 6 hours of adding water the machine began to make a loud whining noise right before going into defrost. Loud as in you could hear it from every room in the house. Within two days the machine quit altogether. It was returned. I kept my money.

I've been wanting one of these for quite some time. When saw it was on sale I thought it was time to purchase! Glad I did! Easy to set up, had ice in no time and absolutely love it!! Great price too.

Caught this on the doorbuster deal and I am in love! I fill my Stanley up every morning before work and don’t have to go to Chick-fil-A just for their ice!

This makes the best ice and makes it faster than I was anticipating! Setup was simple enough. The tank is helpful because I think I would be adding water frequently without it. Best purchase I've made in a while!

The product was great for the first two months and then stopped working. Couldn't get GE to fix it or send another one out. Very disappointed in the service.

We bought our first ice machine and it worked for half a day. It started making horrible noises so we unplugged it. The next day we plugged it back in and it worked great for another few hours. It started making horrible noises again so we returned it. We decided to get the same machine, giving it the benefit of the doubt. Horrible noises again played the same game finally took it back and will never buy another one again!

DO NOT BUY THIS!!! we bought it brand new from Sam's mother day 2026 - the first unit we cleaned and descaled like clockwork 3x in the 2 mos since we bought it then beginning of july it started making very loud grinding sounds so we called GE customer service and the lady was of ZERO help over the phone and very rude. Eventually they agreed to send us a new one. Once we got our new one about a month later, it is now 5 weeks later and same issue is happening again! DO not waste your money on this item it doesn't last and they only send you one replacement so we are out our $300 at this point.

I have been seeing all of the reviews about this ice makers. They are true. This machine makes an unbearable squealing noise and I can't get it to stop whatever I do. Unplug, dethaw, descale. Extremely disappointed that GE would continue to sell this producer with the same problems that a lot of customers are having. Now, what are our options to something comparable?

The worst by ice machine ever this is our second one on warranty and they will give you the runaround to not replace it. I did all their troubleshooting that they recommended running vinegar through it and it's still not working, but it's still my fault.

Really disappointed. The first one I bought wouldn't stop screeching. So I went back and exchanged it figures it was defective. After about 5 uses this one is doing the same. I've cleaned it after each use and haven't done anything that could have caused this. For the price tag I expected much better
