Disappointed

I have bought an item just like this on Amazon but the magnet was all the way down the opening making the connection strong when opened to close. This product I purchased was not at all as strong magnetically it has small squares that are spaced and have to be help to be closed . If going in and out with hands full it will stay open and not connect. Won’t by this one again.

CONVENIENT

This Magic Mesh screen is very convenient for doors or sliders where there isn't a screen door, or you don't want to have to open and close it when going in and out. I bought mine in black and like that because it also serves as a light filter. The only problem I have found is that the magnet cases attached to hold it closed sometimes pop off, especially if you have dogs. But we've just glued them back in place and all is well. Good product!

Nice but doesn’t last

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a nice product and good of you don’t have a screen door. We will use this for the back door where we don’t have a screen in the summer when we are cooking outside. The concept is great but they don’t last long.

Easy to install. Serves the purpose.

Easy to install. Magnets on top were not coming together when I installed it. I had to pull and press the top center further up like ^. It worked like a charm. While pasting the strips on either sides, I used count of magnets to space them. While installing, top should not be sagging. It has to be perfect horizontal or a little inclined in the center (this brings the magnets back together). Use the vertical stripes to align the sides in straight line. It is ok to be little loose. There was thunder storm the first night. It held up pretty good with open doors.

Good product

It has worked well. This is actually our second one. We bought our first one a few years ago. The reason we had to buy a second one is our cats got hold of the first one. It is still holding up though. We just bought this one in case the other one completely disintegrated.

Magic Mesh® Hands-Free Screen Door

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have a Bichon Frise that likes to run in and out of the house yet it often takes a beating on my screen doors. I used to have a “doggie door” except pets other than mine ended up in my house. The alternative was to work with a screen door that my pet can maneuver in and out. Since my pet is less than 14 pounds, I tried the Magic Mesh Screen Door to facilitate his needs to go outside. The Magic Mesh was very easy to assemble and mount with the provided double tape/velcro pads. The screen held up OK except it had to be remounted when it came loose from the double tape. I had to re-tape and reinstall which was an inconvenience. Once remounted, it held up for a lengthy period of time with no further issues. During the day it’s great having the option to allow outside air to cross through my living room. It also does a great job of keeping flying insects from penetrating the screen. The only challenge is it takes some effort to split the screen to allow for egress. Other than that, it reattaches itself very quickly when passing through. I give the Magic Mesh Screen Door a 4-STAR Rating.

Mesh magnetic door

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is so handy with 2 dogs and 3 cats who continually want to go in and out! Living in Louisiana with the mosquitos I can now leave my door open and get fresh air too!!!Didn’t have to make a doggy door! The set up was extremely simply and doesn’t look awful visually.

Cheap but works

This was as many said very cheaply made, the magnets started falling off after a week, which we had to glue back on. I probably would have paid $5 for this if i had known the quality of it before hand. Sometimes the magnets always join together so you kind of have to manually guide them. I cant complain too much, we enjoy being able to open our front door without letting bugs in, is a lot cheaper than a screen door

Bought two of these and they seem to keep tearing at the top. We cannot use the tacks because outer frame is metal. Used industrial strength velcro the second time and it still tore. I may but another this weekend and try a suggestion I seen not to tape down the ends. It will certainly keep the bugs out if you can keep it up. I would be a great product with some minor adjustments. Good Luck!!!

If You have a Medium to Large Dog, Forget it

My screen has been up for all of two days and the mesh/screen is already ripped and the flimsy plastic magnet holders have flown off three times now. The first day, one flew off twice so I had to super glue the magnet inside the plastic holder and then super glue both sides of the holder together on the screen to prevent it from coming off again. Day 2, my Boxer jumped on my closed sliding door to be let in (it was cold outside) and ripped the screen and made 3 of the magnets and their holders fly off. This is now virtually useless as the screen has a hole in it. I got this to keep bugs out but also for security to prevent my parrots from flying outside when the sliding door is open for the dogs to go in and out of.
