Great functionality vs standard non-louvered pergola. This makes a 95 degree day in Kentucky feel very comfortable. Setup was easy. Two people spent one full day installing. We were missing one small piece, which was rushed out to us with no questions asked. It has also shown great wind resistance, which is a must where I live. Aluminum frames just don't hold up like steel. The only reason I cannot give 5 stars is because you cannot hang things, like a chair, hammock, etc from the frame, despite it being steel. I would also like it if BD made add-ons, like curtains for privacy and shade when the sun is at a low angle. Overall, I do love having this pergola.

Our family purchased this 14x10 after deciding the louvered feature would be perfect for the inconsistent weather Oregon can provide. Already we have seen it work wonders in diverting rain when closed and keeping my kids happy and dry while they do school work. Installation was easy enough and all items were in great condition. I like the pergola itself because there is one major issue - no option to add patio shades! , Due to the direction of the sun, we can not use the pergola passed 3PM which is a big bummer. Patio shades would have been a solution but Backcountry doesnt have any for their pergola.

Product is quality....all pieces came wrapped in plastic and are flawless in finish....4 boxes. 1 & 2 are the structure and 3 & 4 are the slats....hardware is blister wrapped with easy identifiers and plenty of extra pieces of each and several drive bits included...direction book was awesome, with detailed drawings and clear instructions, every step was detailed.....I constructed 90% of it myself with just some additional help to stand it up and add the 2 end pieces, once up, 1 person can complete adding the slat top....took me about 4 hours to construct the structure and about another 4 hours today to add the slats, and works as advertised with smooth rotation of the slats from full open to full closed....another nice feature is all the screw in hardware has a drop of loctite added....I still need to move to its final location and use the included concrete anchors to attach to my patio....I have to give this product a ten...I did not have ANY connections that did not line up perfectly, and it zipped right together.

I looked for a long time before deciding on this product. The price was good and it didn't disappoint. We hired a handyman service to assemble and bolt to our deck. It's a sleek design, and we love that it has the drainage system and the option to have the slats open or closed. Provides great shade and even allows my husband to grill when it's raining! They're very sturdy. We get strong winds where we live and we've had no issues with the structural integrity. We liked this so much that we bought a second one for the other part of our deck. I highly recommend.

I am in love with my new pergola. It has brought our backyard to a new level! The louvers allow us to get some shade on hotter days, and allow us to let the sun shine in when its a bit chilly, allowing us to utilize our outdoor space more often. The outlets and usb ports have really come in handy when we have company. Friends can charge their phones and it allows us to easily plug in a speaker when needed. Our old pergola did not have gutters when caused it to be unusable if there was rain as you would get splashed when sitting underneath. It is like we have another room in our house!

So happy invested in the Sarasota Took two of us do, just follow the instructions take your time. We enjoy the space that literally transforms our hot sun beaten area to a comfortable outdoor living environment. Game Changer for us I would totally recommend.

It took three people around 4-5 hours to put up my pergola, which might have been quicker if not for the heat wave. The screws were securely packaged and the organization was impressive, with everything clearly labeled. When the louvers are fully open and the sun shines through, it feels cooler than sitting directly in the sun. It hasn’t rained yet to see how well the pergola stands up to other elements but I’m sure it will do well. After a week, I’m loving it. The only improvement would be offering accessories, like a curtain for one side or all sides to block more sun or a way to hang lights. Other than that, it’s a great purchase!

Bought this a couple of weeks ago. Installed it in about 6 hours today. I was wondering how smooth it would operate the louvers, but I am very pleased with it. It's only been a day, but so far I absolutely love it. Well designed. Fairly simple to install, needed 3 guys but mostly just to set the beams upright. Other than that really could do it yourself, but probably best to have 2.

I bought this to replace my gazebo that was destroyed by the hurricane. It is very nice and the louvers are cool. One word of caution during assembly: make sure you get the long beams set the right way. The instructions aren’t clear on that and we had to remove all the louvers and flip the beams over.
