[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My husband and I have been searching for the perfect pergola for our backyard and patio to place over our new outdoor furniture to make our backyard more inviting and complete as we love entertaining. We looked for a few key things including; quality, functionality and durability. Assembly and Quality: This pergola is solid and has required very minimal upkeep. The set up took some time, but it was to be expected. With clear instructions and helpful customer service it will get put together in no time and well worth it in the end. Functionality: The adjustable louvres are amazing, if you want to let in the sunlight or you want some shade, or if you want to still be outside and it’s raining, just open or close the louvres and you have your perfect setup. This pergola also has a built-in drainage system. I would absolutely recommend this pergola to a friend and can't wait for summer to start!

Product is quality....all pieces came wrapped in plastic and are flawless in finish....4 boxes. 1 & 2 are the structure and 3 & 4 are the slats....hardware is blister wrapped with easy identifiers and plenty of extra pieces of each and several drive bits included...direction book was awesome, with detailed drawings and clear instructions, every step was detailed.....I constructed 90% of it myself with just some additional help to stand it up and add the 2 end pieces, once up, 1 person can complete adding the slat top....took me about 4 hours to construct the structure and about another 4 hours today to add the slats, and works as advertised with smooth rotation of the slats from full open to full closed....another nice feature is all the screw in hardware has a drop of loctite added....I still need to move to its final location and use the included concrete anchors to attach to my patio....I have to give this product a ten...I did not have ANY connections that did not line up perfectly, and it zipped right together.

My search for a stylish and functional pergola is over. After purchasing and installing this pergola, I can confidently say it has transformed my backyard into a welcoming retreat. The construction of this pergola is impressive. Made from steel, it has a sturdy frame with powder-coated finish adding to its durability but also to its aesthetic appeal, seamlessly blending into my outdoor space. One of the standout features is its adjustable roof. This design allows me to control the amount of sunlight and shade that filters through, providing customizable comfort throughout the day. Assembly of the pergola was surprisingly straightforward, thanks to the detailed instructions provided. While it may require some time and effort, the end result was well worth it. I appreciated the pre-drilled holes and labeled parts, which streamlined the process and ensured a precise fit. Once assembled, the Sarasota pergola instantly elevated our backyard. Its sleek and modern design adds a touch of sophistication. In terms of functionality, the Sarasota pergola excels in providing both shelter and style. Additionally, the integrated gutter system efficiently manages rainwater runoff, ensuring a dry and comfortable space underneath. Overall, I am thoroughly impressed with the Sarasota Steel Pergola. Its combination of durability, versatility, and aesthetic appeal make it a standout choice for anyone looking to enhance their outdoor living experience.

I bought this to replace my gazebo that was destroyed by the hurricane. It is very nice and the louvers are cool. One word of caution during assembly: make sure you get the long beams set the right way. The instructions aren’t clear on that and we had to remove all the louvers and flip the beams over.

I like the pergola itself because there is one major issue - no option to add patio shades! , Due to the direction of the sun, we can not use the pergola passed 3PM which is a big bummer. Patio shades would have been a solution but Backcountry doesnt have any for their pergola.

My patio desperately needed some shade and though I love pergolas, I didn’t feel that the traditional wooden pergola would work in my space. And temperature extremes plus wood leads to expensive replacements. This pergola is the perfect solution. Love the look. Structure is heavy duty. I added curtains and cafe lights. Couldn’t be happier.

Our family purchased this 14x10 after deciding the louvered feature would be perfect for the inconsistent weather Oregon can provide. Already we have seen it work wonders in diverting rain when closed and keeping my kids happy and dry while they do school work. Installation was easy enough and all items were in great condition. Thank you!

Beautiful. My friends put this together with no problem. There were no screws included to secure the pergola but otherwise they put it with no problem. Virtual customer was great. They were very patient while I asked various questions to make sure this was a good fit for us prior to purchase

I've had decent luck with BYD products in the past, but not this time around. The included bolts are very low quality, and break easily. Also, 3 out of 4 posts had a visible twist. Also some of the pieces could have been attached, saving assembly time for the customer.

We bought 5 - 20x10 Sarasota Steel Louvered Pergolas and put them up on our beer garden patio. The first one took us just over two days to assemble, but we became experts and erected the next four in under two days total. We had one faulty part and Backyard Discovery overnighted the part to us and we were able to complete the project the next day. They even followed up with us on how things were going. Quality is top notch and the service response was even better.
