Small town in Alabama here. This scanner does a great job with the local authorities. This device has the same reception as my other 2 plug-in scanners. Good 👍

A great small and compact little scanner. Does not come with any batteries so you might want to have some AA's on hand. It takes regular alkaline or rechargeables, Which I recommend. All in all a good deal, yet again from Walmart!

just doesnt work as well as i thought it would

Buttons are small and hard to read, have not been able to set up . Alert noise to loud and then then chatter to low, have to keep changing volume. Does not stay charged , have to leave plugged in to use and didn't come with a regular plug.

This scanner only receives amplitude modulated airwaves. Most police, fire and ambulance services use frequency modulated or digitally modulated signals. The only transmissions I heard were aircraft and the weather forecast. I was unable to hear any CB transmissions on any of the 40 channels. This scanner would have been a good choice back in the day before transmitters became highly complex and encrypted.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been a scanner enthusiast for years and I know allot about scanners. This scanner has been working ok although it doesn't have the best receiver. Now it is messing up and not working well and I am unable to return it.
