I bought a box of these from Sam's Club pick up a few weeks ago. I baked up one package that same night. My son and I had eaten a brownie that night and said that he had a chewy piece that he then spit out. I thought it odd that he was complaining of it being chewy since he cut himself a center piece that was still very soft probably slightly undercooked. Then the following day I tried a piece (or maybe two) at work and had the same problem. I disposed of the chewy piece but still didn't think much of it. Then I cooked the last two packages together in a 9x13 pan so I that i could share some with my coworkers. I snuck a piece for breakfast and, again, started chewing on something chewy that did not break down easy. I then removed that piece and placed in a tissue..... Low and behold, the chewy piece was whitish in color and resembled a MEAL FLOUR WORM that had 5 body segments!!! TRULY DISTURBING AND WILL NEVER BUY AGAIN. I am sick to my stomach. I did some research and it turns out that this is fairly common in brownie and cake mixes with a longer shelf life. I will be sure to sift any brownie and cake mixes in the future!

I recently purchased this new brownie mix from Sams. I am disappointed. It is not as good as the Ultimate mix. I LOVE chocolate, but this has a slightly bitter flavor. I do not think it is as tasty as the Ultimate Mix. Sams, please bring back the Ultimate Option instead.

I used to buy these for $6 or $7 and now they are $11 and even with $1.50 off they are still too high. You can get a good box of brownie mix for under $2 at the regular store. Anything over $8 for these is just a ridiculous price. They started going up after covid and kept going up, up, up again, and now they aren't worth the price.

Way back many years ago Hershey made the best chocolatey gooey brownies in the dark brown box and then the Betty Crocker white box took its place. They cook 5-8 minutes faster then the box says, the taste is a bad cheap chocolate that has almost a burned taste even if you cook it less. Save your money and avoid Betty Crocker brownies.

Great for a boxed mix. Actually, whole family likes it better than the homemade Hershey version.
