Damaged goods.

My husband loves Cheerios for breakfast and I like that it has oats, which is better for him than many other breakfast foods. I don't have any problems with the cereal itself, but with the condition of the box that I received. The outer shipping box was intact with no scuffs, dents, or scratches so the damage to the cereal box did not occur as a result of shipping. One of the boxes was crushed and torn on one end. I checked the inner bag and it was intact so I'm hoping that the cereal is OK and there aren't smaller tears in the inner bag that I didn't see. The boxes I received have Best By dates of 8 1/2 months. I supposed that's fine for most people, but my husband likes to rotate his cereal and likes to have a different kind of cereal after he finishes one box adn these are pretty large boxes. He has a few that he rotates through so by the time he finishes one of these and maybe two of another cereal, we may be getting close to that end date. I suppose that's one of the drawbacks of shopping at a store like this though, the items are huge and they often have short shelf lives. To be fair, these were on sale for $2.00 off, but no where did it state on the description that this was a short dated or damaged item. I wish Sam's Club would also be fair and state on the description that the item they're sending is either damaged or short dated. I'd rather know up front and make an informed decision as to whether that's OK or if I'd rather pass. This seems to be an ongoing problem with Sam's club as I have received severely dented cans (to the point that they posed a danger of botulism poisoning) quite a few times in the past. Those cans should NEVER be sent to a customer.

Good idea but

I personally don’t care for the texture of the heart shaped Cheerios ( They seem over baked to me)

What a steal!

I love Cheerios--either Honey Nut or Original. I can't believe how cheap they are at Sam's. The price at Sam's is easily 1/3 less than my regular grocery store. You can't beat this deal with a stick.

What Can You Say - They are Cheerios

What can you say about a product that has been on the market as long as this one and still going strong other than that we keep reordering it on a regular basis

CAUTION it is not really gluten free

IF YOU HAVE CELIAC DISEASE OR GLUTEN SENSITIVITY PLEASE READ THIS... Some organizations have advised people with celiac disease or gluten sensitivity against eating Cheerios, even though Cheerios claims to be gluten free: Canadian Celiac Association (CCA) The CCA says that people with celiac disease or gluten sensitivity should not eat Cheerios because of concerns about potential gluten levels. The CCA notes that oats are often cross-contaminated with gluten-containing grains like wheat and barley, and that mechanical sorting is unreliable because these grains are similar in size, shape, and color to oats. According to glutenfreewatchdog.org, General Mills use mean test results from a composite sample made up of sub samples taken from 12 to 18 boxes of cereal to determine if a lot (24 hour production cycle) is gluten-free.

General Mills top priority is food safety and has been for over 150 years. While we are confident our product is Gluten-Free, we know that there will always be people who suffer from allergies and other conditions that prevent them from eating gluten free Cheerios. We recommend you talk to your doctor, especially if you have sensitivity to oat products.

For information on gluten free cheerios, check out our website: http://www.cheerios.com/ourgfprocess.aspx
