They were so excited to have all of the vibrant colors. They were also excited to have directions on how to put them together to make the sea creatures and boats. Of course I enjoyed playing with them too.

I bought the LEGO Classic Creative Ocean Fun 11018 Building Kit; With 6 Mini Builds, Including a Viking Ship and a Yellow Submarine, Plus Extra Bricks for Imaginative Play; Educational Toy for Ages 4 (333 Pieces) for $15.99. This is a pretty cool Lego set because it has 7 pretty simple builds, but it also has extra blocks for more creative play. It took me 23 minutes to build all 7 ocean items so it would probably take kids from 30 minutes to an hour to build all of them plus a few fun pieces. The box says this is for 4 . I think it might be challenging for 4 and 5 year olds, but they could definitely do it with some adult assistance. I teach third grade and my 8 and 9 year olds love building quick and easy builds. Their minds would run wild after building these and I'm sure they could come up with some other awesome ocean creatures. The first three bags have 2 or 3 builds and then the other two unlabeled bags have the extra pieces. The instructions were easy to follow. I do wish there was a brick separator in this box because some of the small and intricate pieces are hard to remove from each other. It would be nice if the box could recluse as well so all of the pieces could be stored inside. Overall, it's a pretty cool set for $16 with a ton of bright and unique Lego pieces that aren't typically in the basic Lego boxes.

Pieces are sorted by build in baggies and there are also bags of extra pieces. The theme is under the sea. The booklet with ideas is easy for younger kids to use and follow instructions themselves. It's a great tool to practice following directions and independent fine motor practice. My kids loved this kit and putting all the little creations together.

I received product reimbursement in exchange for my honest review. I enjoyed building using this Creative Ocean Fun set. There are 7 unique builds with easy to follow instructions. Inside the box are 5 bags and you can make the builds featured on the box with the first three bags that are numbered. The last two are for using your imagination to build and I really like that concept. I do agree with the box in saying that it's recommended for ages 4 , the instructions and builds were pretty easy to follow along with. Only thing I wasn't a fan of is the "seahorse" build, I can't tell what it is supposed to be and they don't associate names with the builds so seahorse is my assumption. Besides that, this was a fun, easy set that I would recommend for anyone.
