High Tech Pet Humane Contain Radio Collar for Electronic Fence System

These collars seem to last only about 6 months. They fail because:
Battery compartment no longer holds battery securely; rubber collar breaks or they just wear out.

Great new collar. I can actually hear the audible signal now...could not on the original collar.

This system is awful! I have had the Humane Contain system for less than a year and this is the 4th collar I have bought. This one broke within 30 days. The company said they would "work to make me an ecstatic fan," but I notified them twice that the collar broke- it has been more that 30 days ago and have had no response.
The dogs get shocked for no apparent reason inside and outside - the company says the collars are not to be worn inside, so I have to put them on and take them off many times each day.
The batteries are expensive and last less than 30 days.

Disappointed inPurchase

I reviewed the complete system but also wanted to let Members know that the collar is really the best element. This unit is very small with the strap built into the electronics casing. My dog does not even know it's there (unless he challenges the boundary). My batteries last more than a month and they are fairly inexpensive. The built in shock tester is a very useful feature, one that I have not seen on other brands. The collar is also waterproof which comes in handy since we live at the beach. We usually take the collar off when we take Jake swimming but sometimes we forget. The collar still works even after getting a workout in saltwater. Also, the training tones are louder than other units I looked at. The manufacturer states in the manual that this results in faster training which in my experience seems to be true. We are very happy with the Humane Contain 8000 Plus system largely because it has a very good collar.
