I am disappointed that this really nice bag does not meet airline requirements to be used as a personal item. It is very well made, and I had no trouble with the zipper at all. Personal item dimensions for airlines are now 18 x 14 x 8. The Samsonite bag measures 19 x 14.5 x 9. I noticed how the dimensions were left out of the description on this website. I took a chance and ordered it online. I picked up at the store and brought it home and measured. I have no choice but to return it now.

I bought this bag in store needing something a bit bigger, but acceptable as a carryon. PROS it's not a flimsy bag (heavy waterproof/wipable material), Collapsable for storing Plenty of room to roll my clothes Nice detachable shoulder strap Like the separate bottom for shoes and toiletry bag. CONS Fill the bottom first and then the top, because it is hard to lift a full bag back up to zip the bottom. FINALLY not sure if I'm going to keep it is THE ZIPPER IS RIDICULOUSLY HARD FOR AN ELDERLY PERSON TO OPEN AND CLOSE. The bottom one is a normal easy to zip one, but the main one is a huge oversize zipper and I realize it needs to be sturdy, but it's not easy to use.

The bottom drops down and gives you extra room if needed. It's not big and bulky. It's perfect for the weekend getaway or carry on bag.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] What a lovely weekender duffel! I got a wine red duffel that just makes me smile. The outside fabric feels like water resistant nylon material. There is a drop bottom feature for dirty shoes and laundry. I like that there's a padded laptop sleeve that can fit my 14” laptop. There are outside pockets on both sides of the bag. Inside I found a zippered opening and two slip pockets. The adjustable shoulder strap is padded. The duffel has feet to keep it off the ground. The trolley sleeve is my one complaint. It is just a small strap on the outside, so it looks like it could easily rip off after time. Honestly, I think this “weekender” bag can fit a week's worth of supplies for me!!!!
