I bought this a few months ago I live in Maine I just finally got it out this weekend my muffler was red hot I had to shut it off I bought this one so this type of thing didn’t happen well it’s happening should have bought a different one very upset saved for a few month to get this now it’s useless amd there’s no shops near me to get it fixed and I want this fixed no matter what or a refund it says it’s commercial all I tried to do was wash my car did t let it run without water on with the wand just sucks big time

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this machine about 8 months ago. I took it out the box today (08/28/2025) to assemble because my house needs cleaning. I noticed the registration form inside the package so I decided to register the machine. I'm gonna give a five star rating because I have faith that it will perform well.

Just received this last week. very nice quality of packaging and materials. Only problem i had with it was the quick connect ball joint for the pressure washer hose were stuck and could not get the hose to connect. Bought a new one and replaced it. I did have a lot of trouble starting it after releasing pressure, putting 91 octane gas. Oil and pump oil were filled, hose was connected,as well. After 20 minutes or so trying to get it to turn on i was able to turn it on. Sounds nice, ran it for a car wash test and ran flawlessly.Only thing is this machine is definitely a dancer which worries me since i know vibrations lead to engine and pump failure.Only used it once and im looking forward to use it for longer than a year. will be tying it down to a trailer so it doesnt shake so much. Other than that its a nice machine, only time will tell with the quality of this product.

Working flawlessly. I am used to a longer hose for most jobs. This thing just keeps on humming. I notice the pump does get pretty hot so I do try to let it cool down periodically. The Cat pump does have a reputation as a commercial workhorse so no need to worry. The aluminum frame is very nice and you will notice it when hoisting it in and out of a vehicle.

Pump fills with water, and leaks oil on to my patio and driveway. Unloaded valve hardly works, have to squeeze trigger to start it and it stalls if you try to idle the engine down. I bought this one because of the cat pump and it has let me down. Less than a year old. Talked to the repair shop Simpson directed me to and they said don’t bother bringing it to them.

I ordered this washer online and after 12 days and 4 different delivery dates FedEx Ground finally delivered it to me. Box had a 4-6" ding on top side but did not damage the washer. Did find the high pressure hose quick connect on the damaged and Simpson Cleaning quickly sent a replacement. the damaged did not occur during shipping as the washer was packed well and the quick connect was behind a thick layer of packing. Cranking the Honda engine for the first time was a real chore. Once cranked this beast came alive! Plenty of power and now easy to crank. Open choke and 3/4 throttle is what seems to work for me. To keep low pressure in the washer to assist cranking I use one spring clamp to hold wand trigger on and one spring clamp to keep the wand in the washer holder. Using this washer puts a big smile on my face and works much quicker than most other washers. Should last for years if used properly.

I bought this pressure washer from pressure washers direct right around Memorial Day and I must say I am impressed. I’ve wanted a decent pressure washer for a long time but there are certain criteria it had to meet. 1. It had to be powered by a Honda GX series engine and 2. Had to have a Cat or General pump. The ALH3228 met both requisites at a really great price. The aluminum frame and 10” pneumatic tires make this machine very easy to transport and its low profile makes it easy to store without taking up a lot of space. The Honda GX200 engine is easy to start and runs fairly quiet and also very fuel efficient as well. The fact this engine has an actual throttle control instead of a set speed governor allows you to adjust engine speed to meet the task you’re doing. The low oil shutdown is also a nice piece of protection against engine damage from lack of oil. The Cat pump this machine uses is premium quality and is built to last. As long as you follow proper maintenance steps outlined in the owners manual such as keeping the water inlet screen clean and in place, using pump saver or equivalent for winter or long term storage, regularly checking and changing the pump oil. The oil sight glass on the pump makes it really easy to monitor the level and condition of the oil. The hose, gun, lance and spray nozzles are of great quality and store easily yet securely right o the machine for easy access. The Monster 25’ hose with quick connect couplers is very durable and easy to manage. The gun and lance are very durable as well and the downstream detergent injector really makes it nice for applying soaps. (You use the black Soap nozzle for this). All in all, this is a great product. Only place I think could be improved is the engine be mounted on vibration dampeners instead of rigidly to the frame. This machine does walk a little bit when it’s sitting on a hard surface like a driveway or sidewalk but no big deal. I set mine in the yard when it’s running and it stays put. I would highly recommend this machine for those who want a great machine for homeowner use yet have features found on the bigger commercial units. Very pleased with my purchase.

I bought the Simpson 4200 PSI 4.0 GPM machine a couple months back. It was great, but was way too powerful for my application (it is a beast!). I sold it and purchased the ALH3228-S. It is simply a smaller version of the first one I bought. A mini-beast. Excellent quality machine, works flawlessly. Love the Honda engine (GX is a top of the line Honda engine) and the Cat pump (also a top quality brand/pump). The combination of the two on an aluminum frame is excellent. I will never buy any other pressure washer, only a Simpson. I added some cam-style brakes to keep it from bouncing down the driveway when I use it and replaced most of the steel bolts with stainless steel bolts. Make sure and buy the Simpson Pump Guard for longer storage, like over the winter. This will help the pump to last much longer.

Love the cat pump and Honda engine.The pressure washer starts with little effort.
