Best controller I’ve used in quite awhile

First thing’s first: if you already own a Switch 1 pro controller this is just an even better version of that, not really necessary unless you want / need an extra controller on top of that. What it lacks in new features or innovation it makes up in excellent design, comfortable feel and grip, and the absolute best D pad for playing the many retro games available on NSO. For games like Mario Kart World the extra programmable buttons in the back of the grips make things such as aiming your weapons possible with the right analog stick while not letting go of the gas. (To assign the function of these buttons just hold down the home button while your game is running, it’ll remember the setting for that user for each individual game, an awesome and convenient feature). The buttons feel great and high quality, as do the analog sticks, I don’t lose my grip on them during heated play and they feel quite durable and comfortable. Only downside is the high asking price, I say it’s worth it but that’s subjective, naturally. If you want a sturdier, more reliable, more comfortable, and definitively superior controller to the Joycons you can’t go wrong with this.

Idk what they did to this thing

Idk what they used for the finish on this thing but it feels like velvet and makes the original pro controller feel sticky and gross. The sticks also glide super nicely and make the whole thing feel more premium. The back GL GR buttons are nice too and sit flush which I like, they don't get in the way if you wanna ignore them. D-Pad is also a little less mushy which i like. Improvements all across the board. 90 dollars after tax is a bit steep though, and while I don't regret it, it still feels like a 70 dollar value.

Looks the same as the switch 1 controller, but it’s far more comfortable! Better feeling to hold, very responsive and accurate D-Pad, and the sticks are the smoothest out of every controller I’ve ever held. Headphone port and back buttons are pretty convenient as well!

Came fast. The controller feels nice in the hands, but if you don’t have a use for the new buttons on the back, it can be a little annoying to press them all the time. I’ve seen you can remap buttons though so I may do that with them and the C button as I have no intention on paying extra for it. My main reason for buying the new controller is that it can turn on the switch 2, while the regular controller does not.

Excellent Upgrade

This second entry into the Switch Pro Controller lineup proves to be a worthy successor. I didn’t expect much of a difference from the first iteration, but somehow Nintendo tweaked some of the details and the controller feels even more comfortable, and they added to rear buttons that can be assigned by the player. Slick design, good battery performance, and very comfortable controller.

Terrible D-Pad Ruins An Otherwise Great Controller

It's a really well built and feeling controller. But for how expensive it is, the D-Pad being sub-par is incredibly disappointing. Nintendo *invented* the D-Pad and is known for their fantastic 2D platformers, which the Nintendo Switch has many of. Incredibly disappointing I ultimately cannot recommend this controller when cheaper ones exist with a far superior D-Pad. If you're *absolutely sure* you're never going to touch the D-Pad and are fine paying the high price tag for a controller with one function of it pretty poor, then sure, go for it. Otherwise pick up an 8BitDo controller.

Good, just not for the current Price of 84.99

For the $84.99, I would not recommend this controller. I got an 8bitdo Ultimate2 (Bluetooth) for half the money, and it has better buttons, joysticks, and matter mapable buttons on the back than the Switch 2 Pro controller. The official one only comes with 2 mappable buttons on it. The Switch 2 Pro controller is something I would recommend at its current price of $69.99, rather than the original price of $84.99. I would look at other options; it does not keep the Switch 1 controller (if you have it)

Goodbye Joycon drift

MASSIVE upgrade over the joy cons. There's a slick matte paint that feels nice to the touch. The battery life lasts forever; the ps5 controller is barely holding on for a night whereas this bad boy is going on for days. The d pads and joysticks are positioned kind of like the xbox controller layout and honestly I think it's really comfortable to use it this way. I'm not a fan of the two G buttons on the back of the handles (GL and GR) but they're there if you care for macro buttons.

Great Controller for Switch 2!

The new switch 2 pro controller compliments the new switch 2 perfectly! The build quality is definitely better and the ergonomics feel slightly better than the last iteration. Also there are back buttons now too, making it a true “pro” controller. It’s well worth the money if you consider the offerings from Xbox and PlayStation

Amazing controller

I wish it didn't cost so much, but with that being said, this is by far the best controller I've ever used. The sticks don't rub the side and degrade like Xbox and older Nintendo controllers. Everything feels premium on this controller. I would highly recommend it even at the high cost.
