Scenes with pitch black do not have any backlight glow. The TV is bright, colors are vivid, and the contrast is excellent . . . 5 Stars!!!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently purchased LC OLED C5 77inch model. First of all, the screen is very slick. Installation was very straight forward including the wall mounting. Once setup was done, I was playing out the setting to get the best screen experience. When I started adjusting the darkness level of black pixels, I saw huge difference. I tried setting the darkness level close to 0 to truly represent black pixels. And at night, I set darkness level to 0 for black pixels and I put complete black picture on screen. It was really hard to see if TV is showing black photo or it is just turned off. It was that good experience. The whole point for me to chose OLED was to better differentiate colored pixels from black pixels... And this LG TV does amazing job. Quite happy with the purchase.

If you’re questioning the OLED premium, stop. It’s absolutely worth the investment. The picture quality is flawless. The self-lit pixels deliver perfect black levels (no light bleed, ever), creating stunning, infinite contrast that makes 4K HDR content truly cinematic. Colors are vibrant, rich, and the detail is phenomenal. While it’s not the brightest TV for a sun-drenched room, it delivers incredible HDR highlights and is more than adequate for most viewing environments. For serious gamers, this TV is unbeatable. It’s fully equipped for PS5 and Xbox Series X with 4K@120Hz, VRR, and a near-instant response time, making competitive gameplay incredibly smooth. The design is sleek with virtually no bezel, despite the huge 77-inch screen. The webOS smart platform is fast, but a quick note: the built-in audio is just passable. You will absolutely want a dedicated sound system to match this incredible display. On my old TV, the Upside Down was just a muddy grey blur, but this screen brought it to life with perfect, inky blacks and terrifying detail. The 77-inch OLED is a powerhouse, with vibrant colors and smooth motion that make movies and gaming look stunning.

Waitied awhile tor my OLED but couldn't be happier. Just a phenominal picture. Does just fine in my bright room during the day. The inky blacks are the ebst I've seen on a TV I own. Can't wait to rewatch some moves. Also upgrading screen size from my old 65 to this 77. So worth it. The adeage is true. Purchase the largest you can possibly afford. Worth the wait. Thanks LG for putting out such a fantastic OLED panel.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I just bought the 77" LG c5 and am extremely happy. I have previously owned various sizes of the c7, c8, c9, cx, c2, and c4 and the jump up this year is big. It gets noticeably brighter than the previous generations and the upgraded processor is also faster. The picture is much brighter so that I can have my lights on or my windows open with much less issue. I hooked up my gaming laptop to the tv and can confirm that it can handle gsync/144hz/HDR pass through/etc. I prefer the new menu system vs. the previous gens but they have moved quite a bit of options around and the application of the tech is different. Previously, it was recommended to turn off a lot of the picture enhancements because it did weird motion stuff with the pictures but with the new cinematic modes and picture settings, the enhancements are nice to have on without it messing up the picture. One really nice thing about the new tv is that the vesa mount is now higher on the TV. If you have previous lg oleds, the vesa mounting was always really low on the tv and it made it awkward to wall mount because it needed to sit much lower to line up. I also like the updated magic remote and that it can control all my devices much better than before vs just relying on CEC. My only qualm with the TV is the audio pass through. I have a very high end sound system and I cannot pass through truehd/master audio correctly. It's always an issue with every tv/brand, surprisingly, my old c9 was the only tv that passed audio through correctly. I did briefly use the TV speakers and there is a setting to improve the audio with it wall mounted or if it's on a stand. I hardly ever use my TV speakers since I have it hooked up to a full sound system but I do sometimes use it when I'm making changes. The TV speakers are decent if you're in a pinch but I would recommend still getting something to improve the audio. I'm very happy and recommend this product strongly.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] If you’re shopping for a large 77-inch screen and want high-end features (OLED contrast, 144 Hz gaming, modern smart functions) and you’ll watch mostly in a room with controllable lighting (or at least avoid strong reflections), the LG C5 is an excellent choice. If your room is very bright, or you already have a recent high-end OLED, you might want to evaluate whether the incremental upgrade is worth it—but for most users, this model hits a very good sweet spot.
