Once the world is ready for sightseeing, I am ready to go on my big adventure with my Trailmate Journey 70 Qt Cooler. My son purchased one last year and I have been watching for them to be available for a while. And the shipping was superfast - 4 days from date of order and I had delivery! Really looking forward to using.

I’ve had my cooler for 7 yrs and it’s a great home cooler, the only thing I have ever had trouble with os going on the beach, this cooler is not made for beach 🏖️I’ve been to 5 different ones and it’s kryptonite is Sand and it’s because of the design of the tires if they were larger and more round it would be better, also the drain plug should not be connected with a steel cable but more with a plastic round strap maybe.

I bought this cooler last year Feb 2023. The pros and cons are the following. Pros: eye-catcher, sturdy, wheels are acceptable, spacey, and keep products extremely cold with some modification. The telescopic handle works. Cons: The cooler is designed without a door gasket!! I installed a gasket, The door did not latch enough without modification. I installed rubber latches so the cooler door would stay tightly locked and BEAR-proof. Now, the contents stay extremely cold! The telescopic handle tube could be thicker for prolong dragging when full. Cooler is very heavy. Overall, please follow my modification recommendations. I recommend.

I’ve had this cooler for six months now. It keeps ice cold in 90 degree summer weather for 5 days on average. The telescoping handle is very sturdy and solid. I like the bottle cap openers on each side as well as the overall rugged styling. The oversize wheels make the cooler much easier to maneuver on rough terrain and soft, loosely packed gravel parking lots. I recently had one of the large wheels detach from the axle. They are attached with small pressure fit axle end caps. I messaged Igloo support and they mailed me the necessary repair parts the very next day. Great service - responsive and zero fuss honoring their product warranty. I’d suggest the following design improvements in the next version: - Add elastomer straps to secure the top lid. It can pop open and spill the ice and contents too easily on sloped ground or when sitting the cooler on its end to fully drain it - Replace the pressure fit axle end caps with proper threaded nuts for better wheel security. - Move the drain plug to the lowest point of the cooler when it’s sitting in the typical level position. The drain hole is roughly 2 inches above the interior floor of the cooler, which requires tilting it up on its end to fully drain any melt water. This often causes the contents to spill out due to the lack of any ability to secure the lid. Overall, I’m happy with this cooler and appreciate the responsive warranty support. It would be even better with a few small design tweaks to help it better fulfill the promise of its ruggedized styling,

Just received our cooler today. Box arrived beat the hell up. Looks like it was thrown around. Unboxed the cooler, took it out of the box, may have peed a little due to excitement, went to slide out the handle and glide handle wouldn't come out! We played with it a minute trying to figure it out. It won't unlock on one side. Looked it up and sure enough, it's a very common problem with these coolers. My husband took handle apart and sure enough, a mechanism inside the handle is broke. I wouldn't recommend this cooler. We're probably going to return it.

I do love the trailmate. Great for the beach. I would have given it a 5, if not for the umbrella holders. They are too small in diameter for most newer umbrellas. Due to the umbrellas having the “ cork screw” type base to secure them in the ground. Make a bigger replacement and I’ll purchase it….

Has a lot of useful built in features, but takes up a huge footprint. We own a minivan (2021 Pacifica) and with the third row seats folded down, the cooler takes up nearly half of the trunk space. Also, it is nearly impossible to roll over sand - expect to just carry it.

First off I love my igloo cooler I’ve had for 4 yrs , great space for storing considering it’s on wheels but I have to say some of the parts are not real durable I’ve ordered several different replacement parts. For the price should me a little more tough . Not a beach cooler the wheels on it are just not as big or wide as they need to be to travel on sand . Overall I give this cooler a 3 out of 5

Don't know why all the bad reviews.... I bought the lime green/black one and it has been a champ. After 4 day at a music festival, in 90 degree heat, with ice packs: this still had frozen product in it. Best cooler I ever owned. I broke off the hinge by accident and customer service got me a new one in a week!! We call it THE URBAN ASSAULT COOLER!!!

I had this cooler 1week. Used it at the beach. Came home cleaned it and was putting it away and the top would not stay closed. Upon closer inspection I discovered the hinge has broken off. This was given as a given as a gift so I am not sure what to do without a receipt. I am extremely disappointed in the quality of this product.
