I bought this Igloo for one reason, the beach. Other coolers throughout the years were a total pain on the beach. You either had to carry the entire weight or drag a full cooler through the sand, making the work even harder. This Trailmate Journey 70qt is phenomenal. Easy to pull through sand, easy on the back with the raised wheels and skids. Easy to access everything inside, upper storage rack keeps things cold that can't get wet. Butler tray on the handle is SO handy on a beach day. Storage on the outside for sunscreen, wet wipes, etc. Dry storage for keys, wallet, etc. means I don't have to a separate bag. Or, have those things fall to the bottom of a beach bag making them impossible to find when you really need them. Umbrella stake holders worked perfectly. Tie down hooks worked perfectly with my bungee cords for securing lots of items that didn't have to be hand carried. This cooler just makes our outings easier, so we can enjoy time with the family more. Thanks Igloo for such an amazing product.

This cooler went on a multiple day trip on a underdeveloped trail, dropping off cliffs and riding over rocks the whole way with out ANY DAMAGE WHAT SO EVER. This cooler survived things no cooler (or any object for that matter), should ever have to deal with and took it like a champ. The one and only flaw/complaint I have with It is the lack of latches or any way to keep the lid shut. It has hooks for tie downs or bungee cords, but this is a real hassle. If Igloo is reading this, PLEASE add a latch of some sort.

Looks great and has some awesome features but it leaks water out the top when transporting. It leaked while walking with the handle extended and while it was in the back of my truck. Not happy about that it damaged other equipment that shouldn't have been close if i know it was going to leak. I let out most of the water before putting it in the truck but i didnt expect the amount in the to get out of the top. Hopefully i can return it.

Used my cooler for the first time over the Easter weekend which was warm in California. I used one bag of ice and since reusable icepacks. At the end of of the fourb day trip, I still had ice and cooked drinks left. Definitely happy with my purchase.

We were considering getting a YETI and walked by this cooler and I’m glad we did! The Trailmate Journey fits our lifestyle so much better! The wheels were great to pull across the lawn at a 4th of July party, the handle converting to a tray was super convenient and the dry storage compartment was a great spot to store odds and ends we needed! Love this cooler!

This cooler is a game changer !!! It rolls fantastic over rough ground , handle is plenty strong!!! Piers are no challenge and rolling on and off pontoon boat is a breeze!!! Keeps beverages and snacks cold and the bottle opener has really come handy no need to dig through bags to find one.

Overall quality seems to be "meh", especially considering the cost of this cooler. 1) The lid doesn't close tightly. I have had to shim it with strong adhesive tape for a tighter seal. 2) The clamps that hold the "butler" tray on were lose, I had to tighten both of those immediately as well.

We love our Trailmate Journey cooler! The olive color is perfect to not show scuffs, dirt, etc. I am short, but because of the adjustable handle, it is so easy for me to roll the cooler, even when it's completely full and has items strapped to it as well. I highly recommend this cooler.

The trailmate is great for the beach. It doesn’t sit in the sand, love the umbrella holder as well as a place to keep my wallet and keys out of the sand. It wheels great on the sand without getting sand everywhere. The tanle feature is also helpful,

Terrible in deep sand, the only tires that would work in sand for something like this would be balloon tires. The rod holders can’t handle a surf rod (they’re to heavy) . If your going to use this on the beach for fishing you will have to make modifications. The dry compartment has a one time use gasket. That means if you open it, it will forever leak and not be dry. On hard surfaces this cooler does roll well so camping, tailgating, and picnics you will be fine.
