it wouldnt suction a thing. read the instructions, put it together properly, charged it. it was like the other reviews said pushing dirt. i tried it on my floors first, I noticed it wasnt picking up much. so undid the vacuum and noticed the hair wasnt pulling up to the bin. so ripped the hair out and attempted it on the carpet, three passes and look at this trash. worse thing ive ever bought.

Plus, being cordless makes it SO much easier to get around our tight space without having to worry about the cord catching on things while I'm cleaning. It's lightweight and easy to maneuver. That being said, the battery life is AWFUL! I'm so shocked that it couldn't even vacuum our small space before dying on me. My husband and I love the features but truly wish the battery would last more than 10 minutes. Maybe great as a hand vacuum for small messes, but definitely not for general cleaning. I couldn't imagine if we had pets. Also, I notice it doesn't do the best job at picking up... I had to go over areas a few times before giving up.

With 2 doggies, a 2 year old and another little one on the way, the house can get very dirty, very fast. This vacuum has been helping me keep that under control. It picks up our dogs hair with such ease and so thoroughly, yet it is so quiet compared to many other vacuums we have used in the past. It gets all the dirt/dust up so quickly and in one motion. My favorite feature about it is the fact that you can detach the upper half to use it as a hand held vacuum to get upholstery, crevices and more! I also really love that it's cordless/rechargeable. That makes it so much easier to use, and for storing purposes. The only thing I can even think of that I might change, is making the dirt catching component a little bigger. Love that it's light weight, love that there is no bag to replace, love the attachments, love the way it swivels to get around and into corners and love that goes under furniture. It is perfect for my small, 1500 sq. ft. apartment. Works well on my tile and carpet.

I'm not someone who vaccums for a long time but the battery dies super fast. Doesn't even last for 30 minutes it seems like. I purchased 2 batteries so I could actually vacuum upstairs and downstairs. Suction is great though and it's pretty lightweight.

Bought this yesterday. Absolutely the worst vac for pets. I charged and assembled the vac and couldn’t wait to run it over my carpet. I tried a 3x3 spot and went over it repeatedly. Pet fur was immediately sticking TO the roll. I would easily pull it off with my hands but when I tried to run it again, immediately it was clogging. Very little actually went into the dirt canister. I finally just quit trying. It’s going back to Walmart tomorrow. I’m so disappointed!

I was actually in the market for a new stick vacuum when I received the Bissell Powerlift to try out, as my previous stick vacuum had recently stopped working. It was very easy to put together and the instructions were easy to follow. I let it charge fully before I started using it (took about 3 hours to charge). My whole house needed a good vacuum and it's about 2,000 SQ feet so I wanted to see how far I could go before it needed a new charge. I got a good 30 minutes of vacuuming done before it needed a charge and I was able to do about 2/3 of my house with it, which I thought was great, considering it really needed a good vacuum and was fairly dirty. I have pets (cats and a dog) and I have very long thick hair, so I had to empty the canister about 5 times diluting that 30 minutes. The suction was very powerful, I was pleasantly surprised! I also really loved the light at the front. Once I had my whole house vacuumed I wanted to try it out as a handheld, and that was also very easy to use with a lot of good suction. I have a couple of slight cons, just for me. The vacuum when completely put together it's very top heavy and will not stand up on its own. Also, I have arthritis and just a few minutes of vacuuming had my hand very achy and tired. I definitely recommend this product! Thank you Bissell for the free product to test!

I was pleasantly surprised with this product - though I know this brand is quite valuable and trustworthy, I didn't expect this kind of power, maneuverability, and comparable design and usage as some other top of the line cordless vacuums. I love how sleek and modern it looks, and the three levels of power were a great surprise. The noise of the lower levels were actually quite helpful, especially for my family as we live in an apartment AND have a toddler making all kinds of messes that need cleaning up at night after bedtime! The swivel steering, too, is so smooth and really easy to maneuver around my furniture, and the short foot reaches under the couches and chairs perfectly. Though it's quite lightweight, I would have loved to see an even lighter design somehow, but I would take the power of the vacuum over the portability any day. Every piece is easy to remove and clean up, and reassemble again. I especially love the easy ways to disconnect the filter, dirt tank, and brush roll, and even foolproof ways to reattach. The removable battery to charge is a serious advantage and I really enjoy this feature! However, I would love to see a longer battery life - the product says up to 40 minutes of cordless cleaning in standard mode, but I often like to have whole mornings or afternoons to clean my whole house, and I know 40 minutes wouldn't cover my vacuum needs. However, for more frequent cleanings, like spot cleans, one room, and quick messes, this is perfect to use! Overall, would recommend to friends as a great value and worthwhile cordless vac.

I used it on bare hardwood floor was well as carpeted stairs and low pile rugs. What a game changed. Vacuuming stairs has been a nightmare. I'd lug my corded cleaner up each step and attempt to clean. Or, I'd try to use a hand vac. This was 10 times easier. The power lifter is so light that now I don't mind doing the steps and clean them every few days instead of my dreaded weekly appointment. The way it can be used as a multi tool hand vac is just icing on the cake!
