Skeptic Turned Convert
I was a skeptic and didn't see how a bulkier wagon could replace a seemingly more streamlined stroller, but I am now on the wagon train. I had a single stroller with poor storage space but was really easy to collapse and store, so that's where I'm coming from with this review. I have really enjoyed transitioning to the Safety1st Wagon, particularly due to the quality of the materials and abundant cargo space. I currently have two kids: 5 & 2, with another on the way. Both fit comfortably in the wagon with both canopies up, and my kids are tall so that's a win. We do not have a compatible car seat (Chicco keyfit 30) for the infant car seat adapter, but it still kind of works - it just doesn't "click" when I set it in. It would be better if the option to buy other car seat adapters was available, but they limit you to the one they sell. There is a foot-well at the bottom that is leather, so we'll see how that material holds up. I probably would have preferred a more polyester material that can be easily wiped down, but I will say it zips off very easily for the inevitable crushed leaves, crackers, and water that get in there. It can also zip up to make the wagon completely flat, which is a bonus for hauling purposes. I took it to the beach with my kids to haul the cooler, floaties, chairs, and towels and everything somehow fit and it maneuvered well in the sand. For me, the feature I particularly love about this wagon is the bonus compartment you can attach to either end. It is spacious to hold water bottles and jackets, while also freeing up space in the actual wagon. I thought I would love the parent caddy that attaches to the handles, but it is not very sturdy and has two main compartments that make it hard to hold a water bottle unless it's sideways. If it had one or two water bottle sections and was made of a stiffer material, then I could actually use it. I received this product as part of the Stellar product testing panel.
Wonderful stroller wagon at an affordable price!
Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this awesome stroller wagon to review! This is a great product for family outings. To start, allow me to speak about the quality. This wagon is very well built and it seems it will stand the test of time and multiple children. It folds and unfolds easily enough, and the extra storage basket that can be attached to either the front or back of the wagon is an added bonus that I haven't seen on other stroller wagons. The dual canopies provide plenty of shade from the sun and rain, as well as ventilation. I tested this wagon with my 9-month-old son. He is still a bit small to use it, but he had fun riding around the house in it. The seats are very cushy and comfortable and include 3-point harnesses. One feature I really like is that the footwell can be zipped up to provide a flat bottom in the wagon, which is great for hauling things or when your little one wants to lie down. That brings me to the reason I stated my 9-month-old is still a bit small for it: there is no headrest or recline feature in the seats, which is standard for a stroller wagon (NOT a design flaw), so these types of strollers are best suited for older toddlers and children. My baby could technically lie down with the footwell zipped up, but I'd have to cover the harnesses with blankets so he wouldn't be bothered by them. But I still believe wagons are better for older children who can stay awake for longer periods of time. The large, all-terrain wheels glide very smoothly, both on asphalt and grass. I was unable to test on any other terrain but I can tell there would be no issue in most situations. The handle is very easy to reverse if you want to pull instead of push. Overall, this is a wonderful wagon stroller that packs most of the same conveniences and features of much more expensive options, and I would definitely recommend it to any parent. It is a less expensive option that most competitors and well worth the money.
Great stroller wagon!
I was overall impressed with the Safety 1st Summit Wagon Stroller. Out of the box, it was very easy to assemble, which was especially appreciated while 7 months pregnant. The wagon maneuvers very easily and you can choose to push or pull. The handle bar can also adjust to different heights. My 3 year old loved sitting in it (as opposed to a stroller) and said it was comfortable. It does only have a 3 point harness. The wagon came with plenty of extras including a snack/cup tray for 2, storage bag that's quite large, and a parent pouch. The storage bag was a little difficult to get on and off, which may be troublesome when it's full of diapers, wipes, snacks, etc. The canopy is large and very useful in the sun/rain. I did have some difficulty getting the two to meet in the middle- if it isn't adjusted properly, there is a gap. I also wish they added a zip opening so you can see your child or even for ventilation in the sun. The biggest drawback is the car seat attachment. It only works with a Safety 1st or Cosco infant car seat, which I do not own. If they made more attachments that work with other brands, it would have everything you need. This wagon stroller will be used for years. Thank you to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this stroller wagon. I would recommend this to anyone with little ones.
Great stroller, needs more storage
I was given this stroller to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. Overall it's a nice stroller wagon. It was very easy to put together once I received it. I like that it came with a parent thing, snack tray and canopies. A lot of other wagons do not. At first glance the stroller is nicely made. Materials feel like they are quality materials and the design is well thought out. My husband and I loved the height adjustable handle as I'm 5'3 and he's 6'1. I like how easy it is to maneuver and get kids in and out of and the canopies are the best. I do wish the wagon had more storage. The storage area that it came with is only rated for 5lbs which adds up quick when going places as a family. The parent thing is also just on. No real good spot to put drinks for adults and if you have the handle too low it may bonk a taller child in the head. I also have been struggling folding it up and loading. It's pretty light compared to other things, but I can't seem to get it locked in place if it even does lock in place. I went to lift it into the car and it unfolded. I may just be missing something so I'll keep playing with it but that would be a big design flaw. In general I would recommend this stroller. It's a decent price point and the initial quality is really nice.
It's the wagon we've been needing
Over the last 6 months we've been eyeing wagons for our son (under the age of 2). We just got this wagon and it fits our needs perfectly. We like the built-in seats (although the lowest floor for feet can be raised so it's flat) and we like the study / solid feel of the handle that pushes and pulls. Great wagon!
Family outings made easy
I am obsessed! The Safety 1st Summit Wagon Stroller has exceeded my expectations. This wagon is pretty compact when folded and is fairly easy to pop up and go. This wagon feels lightweight to steer and is easy to control and maneuver. My 1 year old and 4 year old fit comfortably together. This wagon is great for outings like a trip to the zoo where the one year old needs a stroller, and the 4 year old prefers to walk, but also needs to ride in the stroller if his legs get tired. In my past experience, double strollers have been too cumbersome and difficult to maneuver. Luckily, I now have this wagon which is as lightweight as a single stroller, but has enough room for two! Another bonus of the wagon is the kids face each other to entertain and keep each other company. There is a dual drink and snack tray for the kids to enjoy while we are cruising. This wagon also has two additional and optional storage compartments which can be attached to the front and handle of the wagon if needed. These storage compartments are quite large. This wagon arrived just in time for all of our summer trips and outings! One of my favorite things about this Safety 1st Summit Wagon Stroller is that my kids have enjoyed riding together in this wagon! Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this stroller.
I would recommend to moms wanting a wagon on a budget!
My kids love this stroller, we've had the joovy caboose for 7 years and finally made the switch… my 4 yr old and 1 year old fit on one side and I have room on the other side for new baby coming in May! We walked around w it and the ride was so smooth! Easy to push and turn. Was super easy to put together, my 4 year old did it! Once I figured out how to open and close we were set! The detachable foot rest is easy to take off and put on.the kids love riding with the wagon closed lol they giggle the whole time. Highly recommend for the price! And fits great in my Acura MDX small trunk! I now have room for other thing in there and not just a stroller! I'm so excited ?? And… I love the storage!!!!
Better Than Expected!
To be honest, this wouldn't have been my first choice for a wagon because of the type of sun shade it had, but after receiving it through the Stellar Product Testing Panel I was pleasantly surprised! Unboxing and putting the wagon together was easier than expected, all I had to do was click in the wheels and attach a few auxiliary pieces. Now that my daughter is getting older, she wants more freedom to move and the wagon allows her to feel more independent than the typical stroller. I really enjoyed the ability to push or pull the wagon depending on what felt more comfortable. There is a foot well for bigger kids which can be zipped up to make the bottom of the wagon flat if preferred. When the foot well was down it did occasionally catch on raised ground or a speed bump, so keep that in mind if you have little legs in there. If you only have one child, there is plenty of storage room in the wagon for a diaper bag or picnic. The wagon comes with a detachable storage basket that hooks on the front or back, but I found it cumbersome on an already big wagon and didn't like using it. There is also a detachable hanging basket that can be attached to the handlebars for a cell phone, keys, water bottle, etc that was helpful. To me, the best feature is the double sun shades; I can zip up the foot well and provide a flat and fully shaded/private area for my kiddo to sleep when on the go. While this wagon feels too bulky to navigate on a busy sidewalk, it is perfect for the park, zoo, or any off-road terrain. Even though the wagon is a good size, it folds up compact enough to fit in the trunk of my Subaru Crosstrek while still leaving room for groceries. Overall I am really happy with this product!
Great wagon overall
We received the product through the Stellar Product Testing Panel. Overall, the wagon has been great so far, we really like the size for two toddlers. I would have appreciated if there was an actual divide in the middle so the kids don't sprawl out to each other's sides and fight, but I don't think that's a feature available in most wagons! I love the snack trays and cup holders, the shade is also great and covers all the way, if needed. It drives/moves very smoothly, but have mostly used it on sidewalks and not on any other terrain so can't speak to that. The basket is also a great feature and can be used either in the front of the wagon or the back where the person is pushing it. We found that was a bit annoying when you are pushing it so we moved it to the front. Love having that space for holding diaper bags and snacks etc. The only thing I am still getting used to is opening and folding up the wagon. It is definitely more cumbersome than our strollers, and is the reason I took off one star. If it was easier to fold it and open it, I think it would pretty close to perfect. But overall, we are still enjoying the wagon and the kids love it way more than thier stroller. I would recommend it and look forward to using it at theme parks!
Durable Ride for Little Explorers
I received this stroller from the Stellar Product Testing Panel. For context, I have one 11 month old son. This is my first wagon stroller, so while I can compare it to standard strollers, I can not compare it to other wagons. I started using this after several weeks of exclusively using our lightweight travel stroller. So, my first impression was that I was maneuvering a tank. However, within a few minutes of our first walk I got the hang of maneuvering a much larger, durable stroller. Overall I think we will get a lot of use out of this stroller, especially when we have more kids. I imagine this is much easier to maneuver than a traditional, wide double stroller. While at this point in our lives it won't be the primary stroller we grab for neighborhood walks, this is a perfect solution for small hikes and trips to the park. Pros - Intuitive controls and assembly. Comfy memory foam seats and comfortable footwell. Can choose to face a child towards you or facing out to see the adventure ahead. Tray and cup holder double as additional sun protection for our son's legs. Excellent sun shades - love that there are 2 and they are controlled separately so you can protect from any angle of sun. Well-made, durable frame. Great storage options if you're using it with one child. I could stick my diaper bag in the opposite seat and use the hanging storage bag and the more structured clip-on storage. cons - 2 children would cut significantly into storage capacity. Wish there were optional shoulder straps for smaller children instead of just the 3 point waist strap - it felt like my son was bouncing around at times. Wagon was tricky to maneuver over bumpy sidewalks because it's too heavy to easily press down on the handle and pop the front wheels up enough to go over bumps. The wheels are also a little more narrow than I anticipated, so while they are great on grass and dirt, I am not sure how well they will do on a sandy beach.
