I made strawberry preserves with these berries using the Ball canning recipe (easy). It turned out perfect! 10 half-pints with bright natural red color, spreadable and full of real berries* ! It was helpful to have the berries pre-sliced, easy to thaw and mash. They were not watery after thawing, and were red all the way through. I'll try them for pies and other desserts. They'd be perfect for smoothies, or add to home-made ice cream in the last minute. Super-easy to thaw and add sugar for shortcake. I love that it's organic. * Recently, store-bought strawberry preserves look like berry-free, red-tinted gel with a pinch of strawberry seed for authenticity: Smuckers and store brands too. It's shocking. It was time to make home-made preserves!

These strawberries are not safe to eat. I microwaved a few to soften and my microwave freaked out. Took out the bowl and small black specs were on the strawberries. They tasted horrible.

They weren’t ripe. They were hard. Also pretty sour. So disappointed.

I buy these because they are organic and taste great. They've been out of stock for several weeks. Hope Sam's brings them back!
