No sugar and made with olive oil - tastes great!

I’m doing the LectinFree/Plant Paradox eating and no sugar or canola/corn/vegetable oils are allowed. Breads aren’t recommended but if you’re going to have bread, sourdough is ok. I check labels and was extremely happy to find Rustik Oven brand. I’ve driven 20-40 miles to get to a Walmart that carries it, since Georgetown doesn’t. The slices can be very wide so I just cut down the middle to make my wild Albacore Tuna Melt or can make one large sandwich and cut in half to share. It’s delicious with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Toasts up nicely spread with Kerrygold butter.

A great tasting bread with NO SUGAR

Trying to find bread with low or no sugar content is increasingly difficult to do - and because my husband has poor eyesight he gave up trying to read labels for the sugar content. Having just spent 20 minutes in the bread aisle and noting that bread has gone from 2% to up to 9% of recommended daily intake per slice, I was ready to give up. Rustic has NO SUGAR and is a really great bread!! Thank you Walmart!

Nice sourdough bread

I like this bread a lot. I always toast it and find it very satisfying. Not wild about the shape, but the taste is good. Strangely, once I tasted this, I'm having trouble finishing up my other breads that I have. I have Thomas's WW English muffins and Pepperidge Farms thin bagels, both good, but my body seems to only want the Rustic sourdough. It's not real moist and soft, but it's good just the same.

The best sourdough bread outside of California. For the past 27 years all I could find in Arkansas was regular white bread trying to pass itself off as sourdough. I finally found real sourdough, the only problem is that it is rarely in stock. If I am there within a few hours of delivery, I might be able to find it before they are sold out. Seems like when an item sells out that quickly they would double or triple the order.

No sourdough flavor

I don’t typically write reviews, but I was so disappointed in this bread. It is truly flavorless, with no sourdough flavor at all. After I bit into it, I had to go back and check the package to make sure I had actually bought sourdough bread. I would steer clear of this.

Bakery Should Be ASHAMED

This bread is not only the worst sourdough bread I've ever had, but the worst bread I've ever eaten in my life. The taste and texture is NOTHING like sourdough. The density is like white bread, but stale and somehow even more flavorless. The bakers responsible for this abomination should be ashamed and exiled from every bakery in existence for life.

Actual bakery style sourdough

Spent 49 Years in California, where sourdough is a thing, everywhere, in every grocery store. Then i moved, and all i could find was big name brand bread company “sourdough” (insert eye roll) in a perfectly square, even loaf, that tastes nothing like, or has the texture of, sourdough. Found this today and I am ecstatic. Texture is good, taste is good, and an actual chewy crust on this round loaf, as it should be! This is the real deal. Sourdough is my favorite bread, and this is a decent substitute for what can be found in California. So pleased to have found it at Walmart.

Dense, chewy, tangy.

The best grocery store sourdough I’ve had. No, it’s not like homemade. I don’t think you’ll find that in a grocery store. It is dense, chewy and tangy. I’m on my third package and I’ll definitely be buying more. I toasted it in the toaster oven until it was crunchy and made this avocado toast with pickled beets and shrimp. The recipe is on the back of the aunt nellies pickled beets jar and I used the frozen cooked shrimp.

Tastes great to me! Definitely worth a try.

This tastes like fresh sourdough bread. It doesn’t have a very strong sour taste, but the sour taste is there. I don’t understand why some people say it tastes like white bread or that it’s sweet- their tastebuds must be off. It has a texture like a fresh white bread, but tastes nothing like that. Anyway, it is definitely worth a try especially if you love sourdough. My only complaint is how little you get for the price and it’s not found in every Walmart, but this bread is pretty delicious and worth every penny.

Please get this at my Walmart location

Please get this at my Walmart location. Authentic flavor with no added sugar. I have to get it at Winco or Fred Meyer because Walmart doesn't have it near me. The wheat is good, also. It's rare to find whole wheat bred that tastes great without tons of sugar. Rustik does.
