[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I cannot rave enough about how much I absolutely love the Roomba j9+ Robot Vacuum! This has to be, by far, the fanciest and smartest vacuum I have ever owned. I named him Ricardo and he is my new best friend! I love that this vacuum can be operated through my phone and that I can be at work and set my vacuum to go off while I'm away. This vacuum is much more high-tech than previous robot vacuums I have tried, especially with it operating through an app. I also I am greatly fond of the fact that it cleans either carpets, hardwood floors, vinyl floors, etc. It cleans any type of floor you have. I love that it is self cleaning, and it empties itself as well! As far as cleaning goes, absolutely amazing! It gets up dirt better than any other vacuum I've used or seen. It also does not tangle up floor rugs, but will go over the floor rug and vacuum it as well. The vacuum is so smart that it maps out your home, and you can set it up to do so many different things in the app. You can schedule cleanings, tell it to vacuum a certain area, or just tell it to go to work through the app. It is whisper quiet, except for when it empties itself, as where the older ones were very loud. The only problem I found with the entire thing was that it comes with no directions on how to set it up, so anyone who is new to a robot vacuum would not know how to use this very easily. I recommend that Roomba add instructions to the boxes that they ship these out in. I would highly recommend this product to anyone who's looking for a robot vacuum. The new J9+ is definitely an upgrade over my old i7+, however it's still not quite enough to use for deep cleaning as a primary vacuum. I have a corgi and 2 cats and they leave a lot of hair. If I don't do maintenance vacuuming daily, it can accumulate. The daily maintenance may be exactly what this Roomba is best for - small amounts of hair on a regular basis. I tried running it after I had neglected the carpet for a week due to various life events and it just couldn't cut it. The battery life is definitely improved, though, and vacuuming our entire 3rd floor took less juice than our old Roomba vacuuming just the living room. Additionally, it picks up way more hair than the old device as well, with much better suction than we had with the i7+. I would recommend the J9+ if you're just looking for something to do lightweight maintenance but don't expect a deep clean.

We have a home with a lot of pets (3 small dogs and 4-5 cats). All are indoor pets so we get a lot of shedding going on. This robot has been wonderful at helping to keep the mess down. "Rosie" runs every morning during the week and we deep clean vacuum on the weekends. I love seeing the tracks on the carpet each day and knowing that she's helping to keep up with the hair. She doesn't pick up everything and we often times have little tufts of hair left on the carpet but she works wonders on the hard floors to keep the litter mess to a minimum. If we had full hard floors upstairs, I would pair with the mop robot. Rosie also is great at avoiding obstacles (we haven't had a mishap yet). She knows each of our pets and that they are all temporary obstacles to avoid. I can't remember the last time I had to review an obstacle. We also have a dog that is not quite housebroken and Rosie has never had a poop-cident. I am very impressed with this vacuum. The only real issue we have is that she doesn't seem to stay charged as much as she used to. She used to be able to do the whole upstairs on one charge and now seems to go back to the base one or two times to complete it. Not a huge thing and she still does a great job.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love that I can use this while getting other things done! Set up takes a bit but is easy. I love the self empty because I hate when I go to vacuum and forgot to empty from the time before. Suction seems good and cleans well. The dock area is as compact as can be.

I had a Roomba before but with pets who sometimes left deposits on the floor, I got tired of taking the vacuum apart to clean it. I bought this one because it would avoid those deposits. I find it is quieter while vacuuming. I don't think it cleans as well. I find there are crumbs or dirt where the floor goes from hardwood to area carpet. Overall it does well. I have not had to take it apart except when it vacuumed up a ribbon. It takes pictures as it vacuums as proof that it did it. It is very noisy when it empties its bin but that is only a minute.

Well this was a huge waist of money. I purchased this thing because they IRobot assured me that it would pick up the dog hair with no problem. I have to say at first it was great and with in the last two to three weeks it wasn't cleaning as well and then it just went RED LIGHT. Won't move or do anything. I called customer support and they walk you through taking it apart. Then tell you that it isn't working. Thanks! Called customer support and they are sending out a new robot only. So lets hope it is no the charger or the base at all. Otherwise I will be waiting another week or so. IRobot is good about sending emails with sort of updates. You get the email saying "Thank you for your purchase. Your replacement will be sent out in 4 to 5 days. And that is what you continue to receive. They do give you an order number but their system doesn't recognize it as of yet. TBD!

We have a white German shepherd and if you know you know . Our house is full of white fur that's gets everywhere and is never ending. We had the Roomba I3 and decided to upgrade to the J9+ vacuum. WORTH IT !!!!! We have it run and now I feel like we have our house back . The self empty features is amazing !!! Beforehand I would have to empty it out several time on a clean because of all the fur. Now when it gets full it goes to the base and self empty and continues with the clean . I love my roomba and it makes me feel so much better coming home to a clean house and not having to worry to vacuum everyday .

Always thought my two dogs wouldn't like it like the regular vacuum and try to attack it. I was afraid it would get destroyed the first time out. Nope... they can't even be bothered to move out of the way when it gets near them. Wish I had bought it years ago. And the best part is it does a great job cleaning also!!

I signed up for the select program with hesitation; however after running multiple calculations and factoring in the amount I actually use my Roomba I made the decision and I couldn't be happier. I am a busy mom of 5 kids and I have had a Roomba 960 for years after getting new flooring in the house I decided on an upgrade and man am I impressed with the new technology especially of upgrading from an older version. The vacuuming itself is significantly quieter, the navigation is impressive compared to the other and if I forget to pickup I'm not terrified she will wreak havoc on my house. This model can navigate around the most cluttered areas impressively. I'm also excited and find useful the advanced mapping technology for targeting cleaning or avoided the cluttered playroom altogether. I've never known another brand of robotic vacuum; so I can't speak on that comparison but it is a huge upgrade from my previous Roomba. I feel at ease that I don't have to hear anymore errors from full dust bins and I pretty much just let her do her thing. The select program gives me a sense of comfort that I won't have any additional expenses other than my monthly payment. There is ONE CON; she sounds like a jet engine landing when she empties her bin. At first I was terrified, then I laughed, then I realized 15 seconds of noise is nothing compared to emptying that terrible dust bin! If you're on the fence do it!

The roomba has been on the job daily for 6 months, and I'm pleased to report that it's performing as well today as when it was new. I like the automatic disposal (just filled the first bag a couple weeks ago) which allows me to set it and forget it. Usually the roomba completes its daily task without issue. It has rarely gotten stuck, but those instances are due to a new obstacle, often my kids backpack straps or similar item. The roomba gets 4 stars because there are some minor issues. Keep in mind this is ideal for daily use so it's only picking up light stuff. Don't expect it to hold it's own against a high-powered plug in vacuum. Issues: the dust bin senses full too quick, the wheels and caster need manual cleaning of fur/hair pretty regularly, but that's about it for issues. I would recommend the j7+.
