I have bought a bag of popeye superfood spinach (2.5 lbs.) every Thursday or Friday from Sam's Club and they usually were OK and usable but today the entire bag of spinach was rotten, perished and wet with an awful smell. I am very disappointed of Sam's to keep perished and unusable spinach on shelf for sale. The bags have no expiration dates on them and selecting items like this is based on trust in Sam's club that is not going to sell perished and unusable spinach. It was waste of money I had to throw out the entire bag in the trash can

Most of the bag was soggy and wilted although still in date. The bag is so big and too much spinach for it to air out.

I bought this on Friday. Opened Sunday. There was so much warer left on the produce by Taylor farms the spinach had rotted. Will not buy again until I learn they have corrected this problem.

This spinach is hit or miss. I've purchased it the last few months and it was great for the price. Depending on if you can find a bag with a good till date on it that will give you a few days to finish it. But the last two times it took me hours to look at every single piece because it had bugs, both dead and alive, on multiple pieces. And the alive bugs then infested my kitchen because they were on the spinach I threw into the garbage. Finally just got rid of the bugs! No more of this spinach!

What a great value. The spinach is always fresh and tasty. I divide mine up into smaller bags and freeze about half of it for adding to recipes. I use the fresh for salads. It freezes well, it's so healthy, and adds a great flavor to lots of recipes. I especially love it with creamy sauces such as alfredo. Try it with a little nutmeg. Delish!

Bought 2 bags. The bag clearly mentioned ready to eat. I took it for granted and boiled 2 bags of it. When strained it after boiling the water had lot of dirt that settled on the bottom of the water that I intended to use as vegetable stock. I also tried to verify the boiled spinach and could feel the dirt particles in my mouth. Very disappointed with it. Did not expect such poor labeling and quality control from Sams Club. Have been a member for 14 years now but never experienced something like this before. Lot #: YTF084A26.

This goes great in a salad and another thing that I do, I blanch the spinach and use reusable sous vide bags (like Ziploc bags but with a vacuum seal) and freeze it for using in cooking or soups or stews, this is much better flavor than store-bought frozen spinach.

It’s a cr@pload of spinach! I go through about 1.5 bags each week. I throw it straight in the freezer and use 3-4 ounce portions twice daily in fruit smoothies. It works out well for me. Am considering getting a Popeye themed tattoo because I love this bulk bag ‘o spinach so much. Two thumbs up, Sam’s Club!
