Quality spinach

My husband bought this yesterday, 9/25 it has a best if used by date of 9/28. I noticed when I put the bag in the fridge that it was unusually heavy and you could see that the spinach inside was very damp. When I tried to use it today 9/26 so much of the spinach is rotten, I think is due to how wet the inside of the bag is. So I thought maybe I could salvage it by cooking and freezing it. When I started to pull handfuls out and pick the rotted pieces out I realized that it was way to much, going to be not worth the time it would take let alone could it make us sick. So in the garbage it goes. I’m used to a certain amount of bad spinach in a bag but this was beyond the normal. And I have never had a bag of spinach that was this wet. So I’m disappointed and frustrated.

I have bought a bag of popeye superfood spinach (2.5 lbs.) every Thursday or Friday from Sam's Club and they usually were OK and usable but today the entire bag of spinach was rotten, perished and wet with an awful smell. I am very disappointed of Sam's to keep perished and unusable spinach on shelf for sale. The bags have no expiration dates on them and selecting items like this is based on trust in Sam's club that is not going to sell perished and unusable spinach. It was waste of money I had to throw out the entire bag in the trash can

I bought this on Friday. Opened Sunday. There was so much warer left on the produce by Taylor farms the spinach had rotted. Will not buy again until I learn they have corrected this problem.

This goes great in a salad and another thing that I do, I blanch the spinach and use reusable sous vide bags (like Ziploc bags but with a vacuum seal) and freeze it for using in cooking or soups or stews, this is much better flavor than store-bought frozen spinach.
