Initially it was great but the engine locked up after only 20 or 30 hours

Bought for a camper Van we built works perfect. Put it on the hitch and is very quiet.

Didn't use it yet. Purchased for emergency use only.

Generator run in start only when I try to turn it to run mode it turn off .

Problem with running

Had power outage. ran 48.9hrs straight. (excluding refueling and oil changes).

Good product

It looked good and had all the best features and at the sale price was 1/4 the price of the Honda. When it arrived there was no damage to the box but when I opened it the cover was loose and the plastic piece under the oil filler was broken. It looked like it didn't fit properly and must have happened at the factory . Also the muffler exhaust did not line up with the hole in the rear guard. I decided I could live with that so I put in non-ethanol gas but I could never get it to start. Even tried starting fluid but no luck. Checked everything in the manual and called the number in the instructions. Technical support did call me back 5 days later after I had returned it. I think that it would have been a great unit if it had worked. I have 2 other generators but wanted a small one for the camper. I wasted several hours on this thing.
   The good part of the story is that Sams took it back at the store with no hassle (the nearest store is 100 miles from my home).

Never got it to start

So far, so good!!  Runs great, quiet, starts easily, provides great output and is easy to move around.  
  As an ASE Master Mechanic I knew that the “Break In” procedure would determine just how long this thing will last.  
 I took my time and to do a 3 hour Break In which included 3 Oil Changes. I’m a firm believer in synthetic oils, I refuse to use anything else however I did use the bottle of included oil for the very first start-up. I ran it 15 minutes without a load , slow idle , then drained the oil.  The amount of Metal Shavings from machining the engine block was excessive.  I knew that it would be this way, many Chinese made engines exhibit this. 
 Filled it up with Synthetic for the 2nd break in run....1 hour with a light load applied (900 watts) during the last 30 minutes of the run. 
  Drained oil , still some shavings(aluminum dust) in the bottom of my black oil catch pan. 
   Refilled again with synthetic and ran it for 1 hour under a 1500 watt load. It worked flawlessly.  After the 1 hour run, I drained it again, refilled it (just a Trace of aluminum dust in the drain pan) and now it’s good to go for extended use.  Do this Break In procedure , use a quality synthetic oil, and this unit will serve you well.
