I use it in the morning and so far I'm protected from the sunscreen all day long. I have no idea how well it will work in the summer sunshine of the south. It should be fine but time will tell. I have dry, sensitive, acne-prone skin, so finding a sunscreen that isn't drying or irritating can be a challenge. So far, this sunscreen has been a great fit for my skin! It comes out of the package completely clear, so there is no white cast. It has a smooth, silicone-feel, so keep that in mind if you have a sensitivity to that texture. I didn't have issues with pilling when I layered it over other skincare products. Once applied, the finish is matte and gives almost a 'pore blurring' effect, similar to a silicone face primer. This product is not hydrating at all so if you're needing a sunscreen that's more moisturizing, I wouldn't recommend this. I wasn't sure what to make of it initially, but I was pleasantly surprised to see that the formula is clear like a makeup primer and super lightweight. It went on easily and didn't cause my makeup to become cakey or start to pill after application. It has a light sunscreen smell, but nothing overwhelming and I would definitely wear this on its own without any makeup since it didn't leave my skin feeling greasy or like I have too much product on my face. This is perfect for a lightweight makeup look or just to put on your face in summer. I loved that it had no white cast, no smell, and most importantly, it didnt sting or bither my eyes. On first application it does feel kind of greasy but after a couple minutes it sinks in and feels like wearing nothing.
