I was shopping with a friend and we were on our way to check out. This ring was at eye level and the moment I saw it, I had too have it. My husband died of dementia. The Alzheimer's and Dementia Society has purple as their color. I immediately feel in love with it and decided that if I wore this ring on my left hand that I would be honoring my late husband. The jeweler even commented on the quality of this amethyst gemstone, It is a ring that I will wear forever to represent the best husband one could ever have. This is a nice ring. The stone is beautiful and quite sizable. The prongs are secure and the ring is comfortable despite its large size. I do wish the ring were made with white gold instead of yellow. I feel the purple of the stone and the yellow of the ring don't go together as well as white gold would have. But, if you like the color combination, it's a great ring!

My initial reaction to this ring was how lovely the color of the gemstone is. However, my second thought was it looks a bit like costume jewelry. This may be because of how large the stone is, but also the band and prongs are a bit thick and brassy. Overall, the stone itself is a lovely color, but the band doesn't seem to match the beauty of the stone.
