I am having a hard time connecting to my remote. I followed all the steps several times. I have a new xfinity remote but that did not work. Now I am thinking it is the tv. I can not turn off and on without repluging.

Universal remotes and cable remotes can be paired with VIZIO TVs, however they might not have full access to some areas of the TV, such as the ability to access the TV's menu and settings. Different universal remotes can have different setup requirements and codes as well. I would recommend to double check the remote codes and setup process needed with Xfinity support. Just got the tv and the very next day it started glitching. I factory reset it it was fine for a few days now it’s back to getting stuck on 2 different apps (paramount and YouTube) or any app and YouTube from what I’m seeing.
