Great price!!

I priced around and Sam’s definitely has the best price on chlorine tablets! Easy to open container, and I like the way the tablets are individually wrapped.

Chlorine tabs ALL wrapped in plastic bags!

Chlorine is great, cheap price, but every single tablet is wrapped in a plastic bag!!! Very frustrating. Will not buy again because of the bags. I had to cut every single one open and put it back in the container.

No chlorine tablet shortage in Rochester, MN

I was happy to find this product available in Rochester. Joined Sam's Club on line, received a $45 gift card, ordered chlorine on line and it was waiting for me when I got there.

Use caution causes chlorine lock

These chlorine tablets contain trichloro-s-traizinetrione which increases your cyanuric acid which can cause chlorine “lock” and it's unsafe to swim in when levels are high. I've had to drain my pool half way to lower the number and had to go to a different type of chlorine tablet.

poor quality!

I do not recommend these from Sam's. They used to be a quality product. It does no good to use these in the pool. Very little chlorine in the tablets. Go elsewhere they may cost more but you won't be wasting your money on these useless hockey pucks.

May work initially, problems will come later

PLEASE read this review all the way through. I like saving money and I buy lots of Sams and Members Mark products. Pool chemicals shouldn’t be one of them though. Here’s why - The total active ingredient (chlorine) is much lower than better name brand tablets. Your thought process may be like mine - “just use more and with the $ savings it’s still cheaper”. The problem is with how much stabilizer, or CYA (cyanuric acid$ you’re putting in your pool. All pools need about 30-50 ppm CYA, or the sun will eat up your chlorine. Too much CYA and your chlorine becomes ineffective. Think of CYA like sunscreen.....you want a tan but you don’t want to burn. Don’t use any and you burn, use too much and you can’t tell you’ve been in the sun. CYA protects the chlorine around when it’s around the 30 ppm level, but once it gets over 50+, you have to start using more chlorine for it to be active and work. These tablets are low on active chlorine, but very high on stabilizer (CYA). We used these for a season and it worked fine initially, but had to start adding more tablets each week to prevent algae. I started researching and discovered the CYA piece. Bought a test kit that measured CYA and we were over 200 ppm. Normal chlorine levels are around 4-6 ppm, but with our CYA over 200, we had to use three times as much chlorine for it to be effective, and this led to adding even more CYA since it’s so highly concentrated in these tablets. CYA doesn’t go away, you have to drain your pool and refill with fresh water to get your CYA level back. I learned the hard way and spent lots of money on pool chemicals because of this. I also spent lots of time and money partially draining my pool a few times to get the CYA level where it needed to be.

Pool

Better than none, dissipates too quickly. Chlorine levels almost impossible to maintain without adding a good shock. We used as many tablets in less than a month as we do all summer. But they had them, and no one else did. Proud to find Sam’s club trying their best to get products.
