Beautiful and durable
We get very high winds and this greenhouse can handle it! It is sturdy and looks much better than similarly priced plastic greenhouses. The directions were easy to follow, though took us longer than the directions stated, about two weeks with mainly one person working. we had issues with the door handle and their support immediately sent us a replacement
Could not be more pleased!
We purchased the Bellerose Greenhouse last winter and started to assemble it in the Spring. Several of our neighbors assisted and it turned out to be such an exciting and wonderful project! So much so that we are thinking about purchasing another next year. Assembly was a little challenging but we put our heads together and it worked out fine. We absolutely love the greenhouse and we have been out in our gardens every single day planting, growing, and now storing and planning for Spring again. We even decorated it with lights and a chandelier! What fun! I would highly, recommend this to anyone who loves to garden and wants to improve their outdoor living. The only draw-back is that people keep asking us gardening questions and we are not professionals (yet)!
I love my greenhouse!
This took me a couple months to assemble. Definitely the foundation was the most difficult and time-consuming part of the project. There aren't instructions for that, so be ready to do a little research if you're unfamiliar. We looked up gravel shed foundations. The passive ventilation system was not enough to cool it where I live, so I added a misting system. Adding lights soon since it's getting darker earlier and earlier where I live. I love this greenhouse! It's beautiful, it's fun! I wish they'd had the XL version when I bought mine in the spring. I haven't really had the chance to use it yet because I got it for houseplants and it's already starting to get too cold at night where I live, but I'm very excited for next spring! The quality of the fasteners, hardware, and wood was fantastic. It didn't feel like it should be as affordable as it all was. I'm a technical writer as my job and I was impressed by the physical instruction manual (they are accurate, the pictures are almost always very clear, with great angles selected to get the most information across), but you do have to be a little on your guard with them. Sometimes, if you weren't really paying attention, you could do a step that looked very similar to a previous one and not realize there was a subtle change, like one part was upside down now. So you might end up doing it wrong while being very confident you were doing it right. (If whoever does the instructions reads this, you could add warnings that the orientation of a part is different from previous similar steps.) So yeah, pay careful attention to each step, and especially to any red text. And look for addendums before you get started and tuck them into the manual! You will need two physically strong people to do the roof. I (a somewhat wimpy lady in her early thirties) was not able to contribute much with some of the roof assembly steps. If I didn't have two strong folks to help me I could not have finished this project.
Beautiful Structure
The reason I picked the Bellerose 11x7 Greenhouse is because of the amenities in the interior of the greenhouse and the beauty of the outside. I love the extra shelving, the fold down counter tops, the way the air flow is set up with the vents low and the fan high near the ceiling. The rack at the back of the greenhouse is great for adding more shelving or decorations. I love the front awning because it really adds to beauty of the outside structure and of course I want to hang flowers from it. The outside of the greenhouse is beautiful with the cedar wood and smells amazing. I put on a preservative that’s oil based in a natural color. I’m so happy with how it turned out!!
Very pleased with quality and ease when building
I bought the Bellerose XL this spring and I was very pleased from the start. The number of pieces seemed overwhelming but I laid everything out in order as suggested, inventoried, and decided to treat the wood before I built, and I'm glad I did. Just for reference I am a 45 yo single woman and a DIY woodworker. I had a long weekend and was able to build the greenhouse (after being sorted and stained, which took several hours and having the foundation prepared) in about 30 hours almost entirely on my own (even some of the parts that they suggested two people). I had a couple of kids helping me grab the right parts for a few hours one day, a teen help me put the gables on, and then another adult help lift the rafters and one to hold the ridge cap down while I screwed from inside. Otherwise, I was able to do it myself. I'm not saying that to brag, just to encourage anyone else who may be considering it, but thinks it might be too hard. I was incredibly pleased with how well pilot holes lined up and how well bolts and screws sat in place. When instructions said measure, level, and square to within 1/8" allowance, I only gave myself a 1/32" allowance. That's partly perfectionism, but I only had one time I had to loosen a screw to get a window to slide in, everything else was smooth. One thing I will say, on the roof splice pieces, they said five times not to over tighten, so I was careful to go flush, but when putting the splice covers on, that pinched the splice piece down enough that the screws popped up and the covers caught on the screw, which meant sliding the roof panel down and reaching through the roof to tighten up the screws. Don't over tighten but they still need to be tighter than flush. I did have a really good A frame ladder and a portable scaffold, which was a must for me. I love the way it looks and I can't wait to get my plants going. I bought this because of all of the other reviews I read and I'm very happy with the purchase. We had a heavy wind the other day and I couldn't believe how quiet and solid it felt inside. I would recommend.
Extremely well built
Just finished building this unit. One person with occasional help took 10 days. The materials and craftsmanship were first rate. Plenty of extra parts included and instructions were straightforward and easy to follow. Very happy with the finished project!
Best purchase for my retirement!!
We put so much time deciding which greenhouse to buy to fit all my needs. Hands down my Bellerose XL checks all the boxes. From the unboxing, putting together, and now enjoying all the shelves full, I have loved every second. I still have room for so many more plants to add.
Excellent product!
This kit was very high quality and worth every penny. We researched ones at The big box stores and feel so fortunate to have found this. Getting the ground ready took longer than anything, but my dad and I put it up over about 4 days. Great product and highly recommend!! My wife loves it.
We LOVE our greenhouse!
We absolutely love our Bellerose 11 x 13 greenhouse! It’s beautiful and great quality, sturdy, squares up nicely, had plenty of extra hardware, and has some nice features such as the shelving, the back wall for hooks, the exhaust fan and the hose hook up. We definitely compared lots of different options before purchasing, and we feel like this one gave us the best size and quality for the money. And in the end, it was well worth it to go with cedar. Although it’s quite a long assembly manual, it’s very detailed and doable if you just take it step-by-step. They provide an online video tutorial, but we actually just preferred the paper manual. Just pay attention to the pilot holes and the notes in red and you won’t have any issues. All in all the hardware is quality and each piece was marked well. There was only a handful of times where the pilot holes didn’t lineup perfectly. But nothing that caused any major problems. Get the roof sections squared was a little challenging, but wr expected that to be the case. We recommend using a square throughout assembly of each section to help ensure that the whole thing will be in square at the end. My husband and I assembled this together and it took us a total of 45 hours over the course of a week. We are very detailed people and my husband tends to take things slowly when assembling to make sure there are no mistakes. So there could definitely be people out there who could do it quicker than we did. Those 45 hours included moving the boxes from our driveway to the backyard location, and also opening the boxes and inventorying everything. Just those two things took 3-4 hours, but it was an important part of the process and made things go quicker later. We highly recommend laying out all of the cedar alphabetically for ease of finding each piece during the building process. We also did the same for the hardware. There is a lot of it, so you’ll definitely want to order it numerically. We used one of the large cardboard boxes to lay out all of the hardware numerically. And we were also able to write on the cardboard to label the top of each column. For example 100s, 200s etc. since each bag of hardware is labeled with a number. That way we knew exactly where to go when we had to find a certain piece. It was a definite timesaver in the end. One other thing that we found to be helpful was for one of us to gather the pieces required for the next step while the other one was assembling the parts in the previous step. Teamwork makes the dream work! ;) Side note: we decided to have a concrete pad poured as the base, with a trench drain down the middle for drainage. We poured the pad and additional 12 inches in both length and width as compared to the footprint of the greenhouse. If you go this route be sure to check the exact specs because it’s not exactly 11 x 13 (it’s 11’6” x 13’11’). And you’ll want to decide if you want the pergola to be on the concrete pad or not. We opted for not, and we will just put small concrete footers under the posts of the pergola. We also just wanted to note that we purchased our own 2 x 4 cedar planter for the center since there was so much room in there. We also purchased some string lights for the perimeter and hanging pots for the back wall. So you will see these things in our photos, but they did not come with the greenhouse. Bottom line, we highly recommend this greenhouse and can’t wait to start using it.
