I always love to get these when I'm in Honduras, so it's nice to find them here in Arkansas.The ones I got were ripe but not overripe yet. That can be a quickly passing moment for rambutan, so that's good that Sam's pulled that off well. They're such distinctive fruit, both in appearance and taste. The packaging was good for protecting them. Just be aware you'll probably need to eat them somewhat quickly (within 3-4 days of getting them) for best enjoyment. Look for ones that are still colorful and the spikes aren't dried up and brittle yet. Tear off a little piece of skin to get started peeling them or start at the seam if you can find it. Once started they peel very easily. The only downside of rambutan is the husk on the pit tends to adhere strongly to the flesh when you bite it off, but you can either chew it up with the flesh or spit it out afterward. Enjoy!

I’ve never purchased this fruit before, but decided to take a risk. I’m glad I did. They were easy to open and the fruit inside was sweet. I would definitely purchase again.

Never knew what I was getting but they looked so interesting for my luncheon with friends in a few days. The Sam's Club man said, "Cut them open and eat them." Okay. I found the taste light, sweet, refreshing and different. I had to coax my friends into trying one. Everyone liked them, some more than others. I would buy them again.

It tastes very bitter and it smells like some pesticides.
