Great Generator!! Buy it!

Been looking at Generators for a while and had my eyes on Westinghouse dual fuel for a while. went on sale for triple fuel and had to snatch it up. Set up was cinch and fired right up....have only used propane and gasoline so far but works GREAT! buy one now! only knock is a bit louder than hoped but in line with other open frames.

A Great Generator

Perhaps one of the best ways to demonstrate a good purchase is to buy it twice. This is my second purchase of the same generator. I purchased my first Wgen9500DF for our home two years ago and this one will be available in my workshop with the same set up. They are powerful, dependable, very easy to assemble and to use. I recommend this generator. I will likely never put gasoline in the carburetor as it is so easy to connect with a propane line to my underground fuel tanks. Storing propane, which never loses its BTU capacities like gasoline, is the easier and better way.

Started AC without a soft start

We won this generator and a 50amp inlet and natural gas hookup from a raffle. This generator started our 5 ton AC without a soft start and ran the microwave with lights which was totally unexpected. It's not battle tested yet but it's done more than I thought it could which is crazy to me. We're still going to install a soft start but this has exceeded my expectations and I'd recommend it.

Well built power unit

We bought this unit after hurricane Helene caused us to be without electricity for two weeks. We only had this unit two days before power was restored, but it was more powerful and quieter than the generator we borrowed. This unit is well built and was very easy to assemble and start running. The duel fuel is very helpful to keep power going for a long time uninterrupted. I have recommended this unit to my friends and am in the process of installing a 50 amp plug to tie into my electrical panel.

Feature packed, well built unit.

I just bought this generator (Wgen9500DFC) and setting it up was a breeze. Will use it as power backup for our cottage when hydro is out. Easy to follow instructions and operating manual. The dual fuel option is great. Startup is easy with electric start and remote options. Quality construction. Highly recommended.

Multiple fuel operation!

I bought the WGen9500TFc generator for backup power should we loose powrer again like we did during Hurricane Helene. I need to provide emergency power to my refrigerator, lights, cell phone chargers and fans if we have another long term power outage. I selected this model due to the tri power source ( gas, propane and natural gas) to power the unit and the high power output. It has multiple electrical outlets and is easy to move around.

Ease of use

I bought this just in time, I put off unboxing it, then I unexpectedly needed it during a power outage. I was able to cut the box open set everything up in no time, by myself with only a flashlight from cutting the box open to wheeling it outside, it took me about an hour. Put the wheels/legs on, oil in, gas in, plug the battery in, good to go! Once connected it didn't bog down at all and I'm running a 50amp service. There's a lot of brands out there, but Westinghouse definitely gives you a great bang for your buck.

Great experience, easy setup.

I bought this after Hurricane Beryl rolled through the Houston area and my old off-brand generator kept giving me trouble even though I had maintained it. Planning to run this one only on propane unless I absolutely have to use gasoline. The shipping pallet served as a useful stand when mounting the wheels and support legs. Fired right up when hooked to a propane tank. I feel much more confident this will be ready and able the next time I need a generator (which seems to be getting more often).

Easy

This is the first portable generator I have owned. Setting it up was easy and it ran the second time I tried. The first time it didn't run because I didn't know how to use the choke properly. It's loud but I'm looking forward to staying in my home during the next extended power outage rather than having to scramble to find a hotel room.

Confident this will power my home when needed

This generator is one of the highest rated ones out there and I did a lot of research before choosing it. I chose it for several reasons: Power to price ratio, for the amount of starting watts and running watts this has you will not find a better price. Low THD, important for when you need to power electronics. Dual fuel, you never know when you may not have access to gasoline. Has a 50amp outlet, most generators only have 30amp max. This is going to be connected to my home as a backup power source, and with 50amps it'll power literally my whole home minus my EV charger. Remote start, lets you start it up without ever stepping foot outside if you want and worked right out of the box, didn't have to charge anything or pair anything. Comes with wheels, I shouldn't even have to rate this part of it but basically every other generator makes you buy a “wheel kit”. It was super simple to setup and start up on propane for the first run. You tip the thing over first and foremost and attach the feet and wheels, after that you can wheel it around pretty easily because the plastic wheels are pretty big. I was able to do this all by myself. I don't know if it's actually a Westinghouse product or if they just licensed the name, but it's a name that I'm familiar with and trust more than the others in the price range. Now why didn't I give this five stars? Well, it may not even be Westinghouse's fault, but mine came with a bunch of cosmetic damage. Lots of scratches and scuffs and part of the frame is actually bent too. Also, the included quart of oil leaked all over. Granted none of this affects functionality, but when you're shelling out a grand for something you want it to arrive looking brand new. Better packaging could have prevented at least some of the issues. Overall I definitely recommend this generator and actually plan on purchasing a smaller inverter generator from Westinghouse soon to use as an actual portable power source.
