Beautiful, but not the best bet for heavy use
Finally scored a cream set a couple of months ago, and they are gorgeous! Seasoned properly, they cook well and the nonstick is easy to clean. However, after multiple times a day use on my fry pan, I will say that it now makes perfect sense to me why cream is not a common color in cookware. The bottom portion of the pan is now more of a yellow, and the ceramic is chipping and wearing in places. I never wash them while hot. I use barkeepers friend and a nonabrasive cloth, and they have never been in the dishwasher. All this to say, for light cooking, these are great! They are stunning to look at. But if you intend to use them heavily, I would either look elsewhere or get a darker color (though I suspect you will still have to contend with chipping and wear on the ceramic coating). If you proceed with the cream, just have managed expectations as to how they will look after a couple of months of wear.
Thank you for providing a review. We love that you think they are beautiful and apologize for not exceeding your expectations. We're constantly listening to our members and will take this information into consideration as we improve and develop our Member's Mark items.
Not flat enough for an induction stovetop
This cookware set is very beautiful! We are so sad to have to return it. I purchased this because I got a new induction cooktop and needed the appropriate type of pans and these were SO pretty and priced well! A month after I had my stove, I had a problem with the control panel and had the appliance tech come to service the oven. While he was there I expressed my disappointment that it took forever to boil water on a stovetop that was marketed to take mere seconds. He told me to get my iron frying pan and my member's mark frying pan and put them both on the stove at the same time to test the stove out. the iron pan boiled in 3 seconds!!!! the members mark pan took 10 minutes :( we switched burners to make sure and it was the same result. The tech turned the pots over and used a level on the bottom of the pan set and with each pot only one ring of dots was level and touching the glass top. If the pots are not flat and able to touch the stove surface then they can't work. I love these pots and really hate to return them. They would work well on a gas stove (maybe an electric?) but not an induction stovetop.
We are sorry to hear your experience, PJ. Iron cookware naturally heats faster on an induction cooktop compared to aluminum cookware. In fact, aluminum material is not compatible with induction cooktops. To enable the induction function, we add an magnetic stainless steel base on our modern set through impact bonding technique. Induction cooktops heat the aluminum cookware through electromagnetic induction, and it doesn’t require the cookware to make perfectly even contact with the surface. A slightly concave bottom of the cookware is specially designed to ensure stability on the induction cooktop after heating. We appreciate your review, as it provides an opportunity for us to identify areas that require attention and make continual improvements. I absolutely love these!
I’d been watching forever for these to be back in stock. I really wanted the cream/gold set, but none of the colors had been available. One morning I saw the red was back in stock, so I ordered those. Later that afternoon I was showing them to my daughter, and the cream was back!! I quickly ordered a set of the cream. My daughter is now the proud owner of the red set (her favorite color). The cream set is just gorgeous. I seasoned as directed, and hand wash them only. I haven’t had any issues with chipping or any food sticking. I just wish there was a matching large stock pot available. I need something larger for soups and pasta sauce. I also bought the cream colored Member’s Mark casserole dish set to compliment my new pots & pans.
Just what I wanted
This pot and pan set is wonderful! I was looking for a cheaper version than the popular name brand set and this is perfect. I noticed a lot of complaints on here about the quality of the set as well as different dishes sticking to the pots and pans. I think that some of the complaints are due to individuals not taking the time to read the instructions prior to first using the set. It states that you should wash them with warm water, dry them thoroughly, season them with an oil of your choice similar to what you would do with a cast iron set, allow them to cool completely, and rinse them again with warm water and soap. I think if you do this and you never use at a temperature higher than medium you should be fine. It’s also important to know your stove, some people might say medium is a level five and under while others may have to cook at a level six and so forth. There are also several other “do not’s in the care instructions. None of which were absolute deal breakers for me. Ultimately, I have not had any issues with the set. If you’re interested in purchasing I’d encourage you to buy and try it out for yourself.
Horrible
These pans are horrible. The first time I washed them they got ruined the bottom of the pan. They also stick really bad. Don't cook eggs, meat, or fish in them. I only like the 2 pots from this set. I looked at a lot of reviews about how people love these but do not trust them. They are not worth it. I would rather spend my $160 on 1 or 2 great pans.
We are sorry for your experience with the cookware, Mercy. Here are some tips to help you protect this set. 1) Cook using LOW to MEDIUM HEAT ONLY. The leading cause of material to lose non-stick nature is the use of very high temperature. It could be fatal and damages the ceramic layers causing the material to lose its non-stick nature. 2) Always cool down to room temperature before washing, and hand washing is recommended.3) Due to highly efficient heating, the food juice may be carbonized on the ceramic cooking surfaces at high temperatures, forming tiny black dirt marks. To help remove staining, 1. Pour vinegar onto a scrubbing pad and scrub the stain. Vinegar is effective in removing most stains. 2. Make a paste of 1 tablespoon baking soda and 2 tablespoons vinegar in a pan and fill with warm water. Let the pan sit for a few hours, then scrub the stains. Chipping!
After 3 months of use, hand washing, and hand drying. I followed all the recommendations from the manufacturer, and the pots have chipped, and the paint has began cracking. I bought the grey colored ones. For the price, I would have expected better pots and pans!
Changes Color
I was so exciting to buy this set when they came out in the color pink. But after 2 uses my pans have changed color and his no longer pink but has became a white color. They cook food adequate enough for the price, but I’m very disappointed that they color isn’t staying pink because that is the reason why I bought the set. I would not recommend this product.
Thank you for the feedback and review, Erin, we truly appreciate it. Please remember that all Member's Mark items come with a 100% Satisfaction Guarantee and can be returned at any time. We also suggest cooking on low to medium heat and to let pans cool completely before cleaning. Though they are dishwasher safe, handwashing is also recommended to help retain the integrity of the pans.
Would not recommend-non-stick coating is fragile
I bought this set when I moved into our new house, Oct 2022. I have been using them regularly and usually hand wash them. I love the thickness of the pans and have had no trouble with things sticking but I would not buy them again and would not recommend them to anyone. I started noticing the coating was chipping off around the top edge on my pots that I have stacked. Then I noticed the non-stick coating is chipping off inside the sauce pan. I haven't noticed it happening yet on the skillets. It's a beautiful set but will not last and it's not exactly a throw away price. I paid a little more thinking I would get better quality. I don't want any of the coating getting into our food so I have one less sauce pan. HomeGoods, here I come. Probably should have purchased them from there in the first place.
We're sorry for this experience with the set, Miss. Please know you can exchange or return it for a full refund as part of the Member's Mark 100% Satisfaction Guarantee. We do have a few tips to help maintain your set: Use cookware protectors when stacking pieces. Refrain from using metal utensils or hard objects on the surface of the cookware.
Definitely not nonstick
Not sure if it’s my stove top (induction) but this set is horrible. I followed the instructions for properly seasoning the pans and EVERYTHING sticks to them. I’ve re-seasoned about 4 different times and still nothing. They’re beautiful but would not recommend.
Love them
Like others we really wanted to cream colored but haven’t caught them in stock so we bought the navy/gold and they are beautiful! I was hesitant to order because reviews complained about the induction capabilities but figured I could easily return if they didn’t work. THEY WORK on induction. Like any induction pan, you have to use the appropriate burner. My only complaint is that they really require a light oil every single time you use them and are not the most nonstick they should be. But it’s ok they make up for that small flaw with cost. I’m pretty gentle with my pans but 2 lids came with rubbed off paint along the edge of the lids. That didn’t bother me so much but that’s why they lost a star.
