Jeep Wrangler Tire Replacement

I replaced the "stock" tires on my Jeep Wrangler several years ago with a larger/broader set of Michelin tires. Michelin tires have been the tire of choice for my family for decades. I will have no other tires but Michelins on my Jeep. The ride in a Jeep Wrangler is always noisy, however my Michelin tires ride quietly ... the ride is stable and controlled ... and the overall performance is excellent in all seasons. Best of all ... these Michelin tires last!!! By that I mean the Michelin tires last a long time ... and performance so far has not diminished with age. Michelin tires are simply the best performer on all of my family's vehicles from my wife's Mercedes to my 2001 Jeep Wrangler!

Consistent performance in all conditions

After 80,000 miles on the original factory LTX M/S there was no doubt about what my replacement tires would be! The next generation of the LTX M/S have not disappointed. In fact, they continue to exceed my expectations in all driving conditons. From rain to snow and the little off-roading I do, these tires handle everything! What I am most impressed with is the braking distance. I feel very safe and secure in my vehicle with these tires.

Defender LTX M/S tires on a 2004 Expedition

I debated if I should spend the extra money on Michelin tires for my older Ford Expedition but it's my go to vehicle for trips and inclement weather and only has 45 thousand miles on it. It was worth it---tires give a very smooth and quiet ride and are great in rain. This winter I will put them to the test in the snow and ice on a ski trip.

A great SUV tire!!

I have these tires on an older Jeep Liberty with 140,000 miles on it. It's the 4th pair of tires on this vehicle. I use them in all types of weather and road conditions. The tires have performed well so far and I look forward to several more years of use out of them.

Love Michelin tires

When I purchased my new SUV I complained about the ride all the time. I think they put the cheapest tires they could find on at the factory. When I only got 20,000 miles on them and they needed replaced, my first choice was Michelin. The ride improved 100%! I have purchased them in the past and have always been satisfied.

Best tire ever owned!

An exceptional light truck tire! Good handling, great ride, outstanding durability. I got over 86,000 miles and almost eight years of trouble free service out of the original equipment LTX M/S tires that came on my '06 Honda Ridgeline. Could not ask for more from a tire - replaced them with an identical set.

Best tires I've ever had

i bought 2 245/65 17 Defender M/S tires to replace the ones i had on my pickup. I had at least 70,000 miles on the old ones. With the new Defenders my ride has been excellent and I expect the wear will be the same as the old ones. Alignment has been completed regularly and rotated ever 5000 miles.

Fantastic Tire

We live in Colorado so a good snow tire is essential. My wife drives a 2007 Honda Pilot FWD. The Michelin LTX tires are so good in the snow, I don't feel the need to switch to a 4WD for our next vehicle. They plow through the snow easily with confidence. We received 14 inches of snow one day here in the Front Range and we had to travel to Loveland for a school outing. I was a bit nervous on how the car would handle with that much snow. I was amazed at how the tires and car handled with that much snow on the road. Not even 4WD would have made a difference. I highly recommend the LTX tires as we've gone above our expected tread life by 15,000 miles and the traction in wet/snowy weather is four stars.

Dissatisfied

I purchased these units a few months ago and I am not pleased with the handling characteristic's. On straight roads, Hwy's, there good. In mountain roads, Hwy's, they seem to roll. (Soft side wall?) I have purchased many Michelin's over the years and have them on my other vehicles. However, I am very disappointed and not convenient for used on fool weather roads. My intention is to replace them with another manufacture.

Great Tire

I have had several sets of Michelins over the years and they have all been good tires, but these Defender LTX M/S are the best so far. I ran the PSI up to 40 -it was set at 32 from the installer and that made a big difference. I have not used them in snow yet but took a couple 800 miles trips and hit a lot of rain and sun at speed. These tires make my truck feel like a train- glued to the road...hit 1 to 2 inch pools of water on the interstate and they sliced right through it. Very comfortable ride and no excess noise. The only downside is I think I lost a MPG or two on the highway - but these are for a truck, if you want MPG your driving the wrong vehicle. Buy these tires you will not be sorry.

Thanks so much for the kind words A Guy, we appreciate your loyalty! In reference to your MPG, new tires having full tread depth will have more grip and rolling resistance in comparison to worn tires. As the new tires wear, the rolling resistance decreases. Over the life of the tires, all things being equal, the fuel efficiency should improve.
