Super convenient!

I have been buying this product at Sam’s for years. Fresh broccoli florets are a winner steamed, stir fried, chopped in a salad, baked in a casserole or just for dipping. When I get home from work and need something green for dinner. This cooks up in 5 minutes without the hassle of cleaning and chopping. This is especially great for stove top Chicken Divan and other casseroles. This product is in my cart every trip!

Broccoli supplier changed

We used to buy this packaged broccoli about once or twice a month. Recently you have changed suppliers or brand and the quality has significantly decreased. It is not as fresh and crisp as the original vendor. It does not keep long enough for us to use it all before it spoils. We will not be buying this until the current supplier quality improves.

Fresh, firm, tasty!!!!

I steam these broccoli (flowerettes) for about 3-4 min. in the microwave - they stay a beautiful color green, are crisp tender and have excellent taste. For a modification - melt 1 T. butter; Add l/4 c. orange juice, l/2 c. honey and l/2 tsp. cinnamon - mix well, pour over cooked broccoli before serving......... Broccoli is also good raw - in salads, for dips, etc.

Stinky

Not sure what happened, made chicken alfrado and the broccoli cooked down to a strange white color, the smell took days to get rid of, 4lbs of food had to be thrown out. I usually do buy corp veggies, needed it for a large dinner. It was horrible. Maybe i got a bad bag, but nevertheless, i wont use this again.

Bad smell

I have been buying this bag of broccoli for a long time. I pick up a bag every single time I go to Sam’s. The last two bags I bought smelled my fridge up so bad, I had to throw them away. It took forever for the smell to go away. They weren’t expired and they looked fine.

Not a good product any more

Something has changed. Stalky florets, lots of yellow or mushy brown tops. Parts of other types of produce products found mixed in to this and previously purchased bags. I had to throw this bag away as it rotted the following day. You could smell it a room away. Never used to be like this.

Lots of fresh broccoli. A lot.

These are really good, they were fresh and stayed good for quite a while. I like to use fresh broccoli in my omelets and quiches. They come in a resealable bag that says they are prewashed, but I washed them before cooking them anyway. There's a slightly stronger smell than the open broccoli bunches, but I'm assuming it's because they are cut up and so the stalks are releasing more fragrance.

Not all florets! And watch for yellowish color...

A good portion of the bag was stems that I had to cut off. Also, the last three bags I purchased, much of the broccoli (in the middle of the bag so it wasn't easy to spot) was yellow - which means it's still OK to eat but it will have a bitter taste.

Disappointed

I love broccoli. Just steamed with butter. The last few times I've noticed an off flavor after buying the Sam's 2lb bag. So much so, that it affects the flavor and I had to throw it out. I then remembered the time before, the same thing. Thought it was just that bag, but no. I'll not be buying fresh broccoli from Sam's any more. Sad.

ROTTING IN UNOPENED BAG 10 DAYS BEFORE BEST BY

Unless you plan to prepare this broccoli the day you buy it, don't bother. Nearly all of the tips were black (mold?) and had to be cut off; many of the florets were unsalvageable. I ended up throwing away about half of the bag, after cutting and culling through it all. I prefer fresh to frozen broccoli, but in this case, maybe frozen would have been more prudent, or I will simply go to my local market to buy the amount of broccoli I need. The bag showed a best by date of December 27, we bought it on the 15th, and I prepped it all December 17, so it was already rotting when it arrived at Sam's. NOTE: Tried on two computers to add a photo. Photo size 2 MB then reduced to 511kb. Not allowed . Why request photos if you refuse to allow them?
