Goes bad fast

For a while I loved buying this broccoli. Lately it goes bad really fast. I have a bag now, the Best Buy date is 5 days from now but it is starting to become slimy. Not sure if they changed the company or not, but something needs to be done about this.

Yuck!

Purchased this on 02/01/20, it wasnt outdated and looked fine, when I opened the bag the smell was so bad it stunk up the whole kitchen. It smelled like it was rotten or had soured, I washed it with cold water then steamed a little of it, but it was horrible. I then washed the remainder of it in warm soapy water, still smelled horrible. I even put baking soda on it and let it set for a while. I let it set in the colander all night to air out but I had to throw it away, there was just no fixing this stuff. Total waste of money, I WILL NOT be buying any more bagged veggies from Sams.

Bad broccoli almond 8 out of 10 times!

I have been buying this broccoli for years and I have noticed that the broccoli stinks as if it is already gone bad. After opening the bag I can see that there are several slimy pieces and the rest just won't taste right. I have tried picking the ones with the longer due date but that did not help. I think the problem is that there are no air holes for the broccoli to breathe therefore the moisture inside of the bag makes it go bad sooner. I would rather buy fresh or frozen broccoli.

Smell was so horrible

OMG, This was the worst broccoli. The smell was awful. I eat a lot of raw vegetables, specifically broccoli and carrots. I have never smelled broccoli like this. I will definitely not be purchasing again. My kids came out of their rooms and asked what that dead smell was. It was also still well within the date on the package.

Wish it didn't smell

Not sure if I had a bad batch but they were very strong smelling of fart lol I moved them to another ziploc bag with paper towels to remove moisture and they still smelled strong. Didn't last long. Would recommend freezing maybe but great price and the florets are a great size.

BUYERS BEWARE!!!!

Do Not Buy!!! I have always been a big fan of bagged broccoli from Sam’s last year! I bought this brand just last week & I didn’t suspect that the very strong foul odor in my fridge was coming from this unopened bag! I decided to wash it all with vinegar and water but the odor was intense and lingered! I had to toss it the moment I found out (thanks google) that these greens can be associated with salmonella!!! To the garbage disposal it went forever!!!!

Good Broccoli but not the freshest

Every stalk end needed trimming which means it's been sitting around awhile. I wanted to make shrimp Alfredo with Broccoli and make a Broccoli salad. There actually was enough for both. I made up a recipe for Broccoli salad the was about the best I ever had. 3/4 of a bag of Broccoli 3/4 of a cup of pistachios 3/4 of a cup of of bacon bits 1/2 a large yellow onion chopped 2 cups of miracle whip and 4 tbs rice vinegar. Put in the refrigerator at least 2 hours before serving

Looked Good -- Smelled Awful -- Tasted Worse

There was definitely something wrong with the broccoli I purchased and tried to use the same day I bought. It looked great in the package but when I opened it my whole kitchen immediately filled with a very strong smell which my family guests immediately noticed. I washed the broccoli and steamed it. It smelled even stronger cooked and turned a weird green-black (but it was not overcooked). It remained very firm but tasted like preservatives? or something? I paid nearly $4 for the bag of broccoli and didn't get to eat but the one bad bite!

Heavy with pesticides!

Something weird is going on with this product, and this brand. First, the last purchase of spring mix tasted heavily saturated with chemicals even after throughly washing with AVC and baking soda, and the broccoli looked fresh to the eye, but did not pass the smell test. It reeked as if it were severely rotten, and we had to toss the entire bag away, uneaten.

Stinks!

This broccoli smells so bad. As soon as I opened the packaged I could tell something wasn't right but it looked fresh. I thought if I went ahead and steamed it, maybe the weird smell would go away but it got worse. My husband came home while I was steaming the broccoli and he said he thought there was some kind of sewage backup in the house. I immediately threw it all away.
