After Taste

I have always had such positive experiences with meat/poultry/fish bought at Sam's, however these were truly poor. There was a terrible after taste with every single chicken breast, that I forced myself to eat. I eventually discarded more than a dozen chicken breasts. What a waste of money. The taste however was so strong I couldn't eat any more... wherever you are getting these from samsclub, STOP, they will destroy your reputation.

I WILL NEVER PURCHASE THESE AGAIN!

These were supposed to be small breasts and is why I purchased these. One breast was hidden under the other breast and had a bad smell and strange color as you can see in the photos. Also please see the pictures of the breasts. These are disgusting and really can only be used for recipes chopped up or shredded. They make them look good in the package and you can only realize when you get them home and open it up. SHAME ON YOU SAM'S CLUB!

Tastes like fish

I ended up throwing it out after trying a couple of bites. It was very rubbery and tasted like fish (my son said it tasted more like frog legs). The odd taste made me very concerned and didn't want to even feed to my dog. After seeing the reviews here I see that it wasn't just a bad package.

"Woody" chicken breasts, terrible texture

This is the second package of chicken breasts that I have purchased from Sam's club that have been affected with the Woody chicken breast problem (it's a real condition - Google it). There really isn't anything you can do to save this meat, I cooked a couple breasts out of this last package and my husband and I could not eat them. The texture was rubbery and almost crisp. I have been cooking chicken for many years and know not to overcook it so that definitely was not the issue.

Verified Purchase

Tough, dry & chewy

I’m a seasoned cook, and use chicken several times a week in my recipes. Sam's Club is a trusted source for staple ingredients in my kitchen. But this chicken falls WAY below my standards. It is incredibly tough and extremely chewy-even after marinating for several hours. This is my 3rd and final purchase of their boneless skinless chicken breasts. Kroger and Meijer have better quality. So dissatisfied and disappointed in the quality of this product.

Gone bad, all the time

We bought this Members Mark chicken twice from Easton, PA club. Both times we found it to have gone bad (foul smell). Not sure if this is a storage issue at the Easton club, but we have decided to stay away from this one for now. Never faced such an issue with any MM product before, hope this will be taken seriously by Samsclub.

Smells bad

I have bought this checked for about 5 years... But in the past 6 months or so, it seems to smell bad very quickly. I get it packed up for the freezer before the "sell by" date, but every pack has had a foul smell for the last several months. This color isn't good either. I'm unfortunately going to avoid this chicken for the future. I don't know what has changed, but I'm just thankful we haven't gotten sick. :(

Used to be great chicken.

Used to buy the individual four pack frozen chicken but they stop selling it. Started buying the larger packs but they always smell off and taste funny. Last two times smelled so bad I wouldn't even use them for my dog's food. Sam's club chicken quality has definitely gone down.

Great Price but Rubbery texture

We have purchased this brand chicken breasts for years. Occasionally, the breasts are larger and more rubbery in texture, making for an unpleasant culinary experience. Probably, the larger, rubbery breasts are from older chickens. But the last 6 months or so, this product is most unappetizing. Gigantic breasts (if the taste was different we would think they were turkey breasts), very rubbery (like fake meat), and unless boiled in a pot for dicing later (for soups or pot pies or stews), this is no longer a go-to staple for us - definitely not from grilling, baking or stir fry.

Oh my gosh

I used to purchase this meat but the last few times that we did, I thought it tasted funny after cooking! I just looked at reviews and noticed that I'm not the only one!! How scary is that... Who knows what they're injecting these chickens with that we as consumers can taste the difference, AFTER cooking!
