These sheds are outstanding - couldn't be happier

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The sheds are well made and stand up to the Canadian winters. I've had 1 for 2 yrs and just added the second. The 8x 10 shed had easy to read instructions. After laying all pieces out in yard- took 2 adults less than 6 hours to install and anchor. Took me an hour to cut up the boxes for recycle lol. I would love to purchase additional hooks as the first shed did not have they would be very useful

Awesome Shed

When it says Lifetime it's not the Name of the shed, it's how long it takes to assemble it. But, when all is said and done it's a great shed and it looks incredible.

An Abundance of Bad Design

I bought this shed a month ago and it was backordered but arrived last week. Three of us erected this shed and it took three long days only because of the poor design since we had to correct the many design errors. On page 15 of the manual at the bottom is a warning to make sure the truss with the notch goes to the front of the shed. This is important but there are no directions for installing the trusses. On page 20 it states that the support tube is to be put through the hole in the front truss channel. Sounds simple except the tube is 1 1/2 inces short and is it is impossible to line up even if it were long enough. On page 41 there are directions for laying the floor and making sure the door rod holes are in the right place. The directions are nonsense. The diagram on page 41 shows where the door pins should go. The left one works fine but there is no way the door can fit the hole on the right as shown. We had to cut out a large section around the hole to make it fit. The capper was trying to install the snowload kit. Whoever designed this needs to put one of these sheds together on his or her own. On page 84 there are instructions to install EGQ on the tyrusses. There are no, and I repeat, no, predrilled holes on the trusses. The self tapping screws have no hope in penetrating the steel and we had to drill hoiles in the trusses to install the gussets (EGQ) to make them fit. Then came to short truss braces. Again, there were no pre drilled in the steel and since the self tapping screws are designed for tin or aluminum, they were uselss. For the same reason we gave up on the gable support. When the shed was finally assembled, the caps were not tight to the roof and I will have to climb on the roof and use some sort of glue or ceement to to make them flush. This could have easily have been a two day job that ended up taking three long days. Never again will I buy a Lifetime product if this is a typical example of a LIfetime product.

Quality product

We just finished assembling the 10 x 8 model. The construction of every detail is very well made, and the hardware was identified clearly with great visual aids. My husband and I are both very experienced DIY types, having installed hardwood floors, laid concrete driveways, built retaining walls and adept at fixing any thing that breaks. We had the right tools and laid out the parts to stage the steps as we built the shed. No complaints with the materials, however, the instructions were not clear in some areas of installation, particularly the door assembly. The entire door assembly was unclear regarding the direction to install the door end channel to ensure it was properly aligned for the door locking parts. The hinge tube did not "slide" down into the hole on the door a mallet was needed. These little things matter. With regard to the roof, I knew there would be challenges from past she'd we have built . However, the instructions did not state up front that 3 adult people would be required, not optional, to install the roof, particularly the trusses. The icon of 3 "people" was a subtle hint. This shed is not one that a novice should tackle. Unless you have built previous sheds (we built a Rubber maid and a metal she'd from Arrow - never make that mistake) I would recommend that you have someone professional do the installation. This is not a DIY project unless you are somewhat mechanically and engineering inclined. Overall, it was worth the money, and I think we will be very happy with this shed. It is well made.
