Premier LXT 104H " LIKE DRIVING ON A CLOUD"

My wife and I recently purchased a set of MICHELIN Premier LXT for our 2010 Mitsubishi Endeaver. We do some urban driving in Central Florida, and can expect frequent heavy rains. We also take trips envolving a lot of highway miles. We are most impressed with the soft feel, the smooth quiet ride, and great control on wet pavement.

Premier LTX Tires wear out far too quickly

These were the factory installed tires on our new 2018 Chevy Equinox. We now have a little over 25,000 kms on the vehicle of which only about 21,000 kms were with the Premier LTX tires ( we had winter tires on the vehicle for 4.5 months). Yesterday (exactly one year to the day we picked up our new vehicle) we had our winter tires reinstalled, and the front tires on the Premier LTX tires showed wear to the point where the Service Manager questioned whether they could be reinstalled next spring. The rear tires were worn down to 5/32 which also would indicate rapid wear against the rating of 100,000 kms on these tires.

Poor Tread Life

This is my third leased Audi Q5 and 6th leased vehicle. It is the first time with Michelin tires (Premier LTX 235/55R19). I have never had to replace my tires before the lease was up - always 4 years. I have 48,000 klm on these tires and told they need replacing. Not sure why Audi would have used these tires on their vehicles. Disappointed with Audi and Michelin for its inferior product.

Definite wear issue....

A quiet tire that rides well, but goodness, these things wear out quickly. 18k miles, and down to 3/32nds (though on wet roads, it feels like less!) To make matters worse, they are on my wife's car, and she definitely babies the car -- so it's definitely not due to aggressive driving.

JP17, we're sorry to read that your tires are in need of replacement after only 18,000 miles. There is a mileage warranty on the tire and you should get credit based on the mileage you received. A member of our team will be in touch to work with you and your retailer on initiating a mileage warranty claim.

Smooth Ride but poor wear

We purchased these tires for one of our company vehicles (Highlander), they currently have 27,370 miles on them and we will be lucky to get through the winter without having to purchase another set of tires. When it rains, they barely have any grip. There is no way these tires will even get close to the 60k promised by Tire Discounters, who by the way always manages to skate out of any promises/guarantees by providing some off the wall explanation. We've had Michelin tires on other vehicles and they lasted as advertised, these haven't and won't.

Wear Out Fast but warranty honored!

My PREMIER LTX tires handled well and were quiet. But, the PREMIER LTX tires prematurely wore out after only 33,000 miles while they were warrantied for 60,000 miles. However, the Michelin dealer honored the tire wear warranty and prorated my replacement tires (Michelin Defender).

Excellent traction. Good ride.

I have these Premier LTX’s installed on my 2011 Honda CR-V (4WD). Had them put on in May of 2018 at 63,000mi and have driven 7,000mi on them so far. They’re quiet and offer a nice ride with great grip and very good handling albeit for an all season tire. What I’m most impressed with to this point however is this tires performance in wet conditions and especially in snowy conditions. I live in the Hudson Valley of New York and we just got our first snowfall of the season. We got about 4-6” of snow that came in hard and fast. So fast that right in the midst of the snowfall, I had to go get my daughter from day care. I had no problem at all getting through to and back from day care safely. Not only did I not have any problems but I easily passed many cars that got stuck on hills, were off the road and that had gotten into accidents. Two main roads on my way home were closed due to accidents so I had to take the long way around and while the weather was scary, my daughter and I were safe and warm our entire ride home in spite of the mayhem going on around us at times. Yes, I’m sure the CR-V’s 4WD system helped and I was grateful to have it as well but I think the Michelin Premier LTX’s were even more of a factor in giving us the safe and secure ride home we enjoyed. As I said, I’ve only got 7,000mi on these tires and they still look new so I can’t speak to their tread life but I’m otherwise very happy with this admittedly expensive tire purchase.

Terrible Tire Wear

I went into my dealership for my 15,000 service and I was told I would need to replace all 4 tires soon because the tread was so low. I’m not even at 20,000 miles and these tires are basically done! This is ridiculous and the 60,000 mile warranty is a joke. Regular maintenance and rotation and this still happened.

Perfect Small and Mid-Size SUV Tire

I first tried to save a few dollars and put the Defender LTX's on my 2015 Toyota Highlander. They are a good tire, ride was smooth but did have a noticeable "whine" to them. It seems like the Defender LTX is more of a light truck or full size SUV tire and the tread pattern certainly looked like it as well in my opinion. Anyway, after 300 miles, my dealer and Michelin changed them out for the Premier LTX's. All I can say is spend the extra dollars up front and get this tire for any small to mid size SUV. It is the smoothest, quietest tire I've ever owned. Absolutely terrific ride and no noise at all. Fantastic service as well.

Good Tire but did not last

We purchased the Premier LTX for our Honda Pilot about two and a half years ago. We really liked the tire in regards to traction and ride but the tire is wearing prematurely. We have 49,000 km’s on the tires and the tread is down to 4 and 5 thirty seconds. We will need replacement soon and didn’t come close to reaching the 100,000 km as advertised by Michelin. I will be purchasing new tires soon and they will not be Michelins.
