Samsung S8

I've owned the Samsung S8 for 15 months and have had issues with the battery life when i first owned the phone it would go for a week without needing charged but now i have to charge the phone everyday i'm not a power user by no means the phone usually sits idle or i use it maybe a hour a day and the battery will go from 100% to anywhere from 60-50% by the end of the day this is my second samsung phone i have owned and i will not be getting another one after the s8.

Stunning, BEAUTIFUL PHONE.

By far, the best phone I have ever owned. I have had it since it came out 5 or 6 months ago. No problem at all. Bixby is cool, but I honestly wish it wasn't a button. It would do well just as a pre-loaded app. The camera is amazing in so many different settings. Everything from PRO to night time taking, etc. I have gone through water, the pool, rain, etc. and not any damage. It truly is a water resistant phone, of course up specifications^^ But every app and button responds rapidly. Fastest processor and able to customize this phone more than any other Galaxy I have owned. More options such as app button, widgets, settings, device maintenance optimizing. Overall, I recommend. Everyone needs it, especially over Apple phones that don't compare to all these features!! ( :

Worst phone ever

I upgraded from the Samsung 5 and was very disappointed. The new phone is very difficult to operate. Every feature has been changed, but only for change sake. Icons are miniscule in size and every action is punctuated with a sales pitch from someone- even auditory ads that suddenly occur.

Huge waste of money

Too convoluted and not user friendly at all. Doesn't sync old information without having a cord connecting old device and takes 30 min' to transfer over. Have to use search feature for everything and nothing is where you think it is. For something that's supposed to be the flagship, I am not impressed.

Very impressive phone!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been an iPhone user for over 10 years, let me preface this by saying I'm not very tech oriented person, but I wanted to try this new phone the Samsung S8. I was very impressed with the quality of the screen, the ease-of-use, the quality of pictures it would take, and the edge shortcut apps in favorite people. I wasn't thrilled with the placement of the volume switch because I kept accidentally turning the volume down or off. Another slight flaw for me was with the curved edge glass it was very easy to hit buttons when I'm talking on the phone with my cheek. All this said and done I enjoyed my time with the Samsung phone and it was really a very hard decision whether to keep the phone or go back to my iPhone. In the end I made the decision to go back to the iPhone only because the familiarity and ease of communicating with the rest of my family. Changing from an iPhone to the Samsung was difficult getting my calls to go through in my text to my family that had iPhones, once we solve that problem communication became a lot easier. Overall I would highly recommend this phone to anyone some of this highly technological and someone like me that's not a very big techie.

Dissapointment

My s5 active broke in January and I suffered until the s8 was released in stores expecting an amazing phone...some stuff I can't click the back button without messing with the app because its non existent until I press bottom of the screen. Which messes with some apps. Camera tries to focus a lot and the edge display is easily pressed by my hand holding the phone, which messes with what I'm doing.

Good camera, nice screen but some bad design choices

Screen is definitely the highlight of this upgrade. however, that's about it compared to the very well rounded and capable S7. i will focus on the negatives which is most people care about when considering upgrading: 1. rounded screen looks nice but not very practical. it is slippery and hard to hold on to. i always avoid "edge" version of the galaxy phones but with S8, i have no choice. the S8 renders the color in a much warmer manner. it almost feel like used with that yellowish tune on display. 2. Sound quality. i thought this wont be a big deal but i completely changed my mind after comparing my "old" phone, the Axon 7 to S8. the speakerphone, headphone and bluetooth experience on Axon 7 is way superior than S8 in both recording and play back. if anything made me start to regret this "upgrade", it will be the sound quality. 3. Finger print scanner - no doubt it was a dumb design to put it besides the camera, everyone agreed right? it is also much slower than Axon 7 4. no physical "home" keys - it just slows me down in operating the phone. in addition, samsung did't do a good job utilizing the extra space after removing the physical keys. the screen is bigger but the app icons are actually smaller. i was staring at the beautify wall paper and wondering which icon was calendar and which one was calculator. what's the point? 5. software- full of bloat ware as usual. replacement of google now by Bixby and samsung voice recognition was sub-par and the "smart switch" app did not work for Axon 7 .

Close to perfect

I love this phone. It's super fast, sleek, intuitive, and has a huge screen. It's got the external memory option, which is awesome. Also, I really like that it's water and dust resistant (I'm clumsy). It fits in the hand well, too. In the down side, it's so sleek it seems hard to hold on to (My wife dropped hers twice so far). Relatedly, the curved screen (which I definitely like) makes it mostly glass and, thus, kinda fragile. I hate to make it bulky abd cover it with a case, but it seems necessary. All in all, I highly recommend it!

Samsung Galaxy S8

I'm 'on the fence about how I feel about this phone. I'm a creature of habit and therefore When I try to use a feature that I became reliant on with my S5 I am unsure how to access it. (very frustrating for me and leads me to question my choice to upgrade ). I had stayed with Samsung but perhaps I should have gone to an I Phone. There are things I don't like, such as the boring grey texting screen. Why can't I change background colors? Maybe I can? Don't know!
