Better than expected

Great product. Very happy with its quality. One bit of advice - read the setup instructions - you'll save yourself time in the long run. Very happy with this. We do art festivals around the country and it is a quick up and down for as substantial as it is

King Canopy Hercules 18 x 20 ft

Arrived in 2 boxes which were damaged during shipping but all parts were present. Extra bungees were present. One base nut fastener was broken easily welded back on. Best if assembled by 2 people but one person can do it in no wind and will have sore muscles the next few days. Make sure to get ground anchors. Replacement canopies are available.

Leave up all year

We have had this tent for over five years. For the first three years we took it up and down each season. For the last four years we have left it up all year long. Here in Ohio we get a lot of smow which requires me to go out and remove the snow off the roof. The only thing we have had to replace are the bungee straps.

Wonderful Purchase

Purchased this tent for an outside craft show. Had 40 mph winds the day of the show. This tent withstood the elements of the wind. Make sure you keep the side up during severe wind. I would definitely buy this tent again. I purchased another one from Sam's earlier this year (different model but similar) and it crumbled like a house of cards, again in another wind storm. This one however, has my seal of approval. Great buy, but make sure you get the anchor kit to go with it! It's a must.

Outstanding Value

I just purchased my third of these canopies. I keep replacing the one on my deck. After every two or three years of 24/7 usage without washing, I just replace instead of scrubbing. I use nylon cargo straps to strap it to the deck. I also use smaller cargo straps (1 inch width) for extra ribs between the frame pipes on top to keep puddles from forming. It holds up to 12 inches of snow, plenty of rain and pretty good winds.

great product

I too live in sw Michigan. I put this shelter up this fall to store winter firewood. We have already experience lots of snow fall; high winds gusting to 50 mph. I have been roof raking it almost daily, some days 2-3 times. I have it staked down in 9 locations, including one vertical in mid center. The shelter has been awesome. No leaks or seeping. This winter will surely be a test for its endurance. I will use it this summer to store bass boat. Great product!!

Great value

The Hercules did not have the correct number of Elastic Ball Straps , However the King Canopy Company did say they would send to us the number of straps that were missing.

Great Quality

I purchased this for my son and his family to go camping. His site was the "HIT" of the campground. Just wished I had read about needing the anchors and the bag. Guess I will order them later.

Economical storage solution

Item delivered promptly and undamaged. Assembly went well with assistance from several helpers. A solid base platform was built prior to assembly in order to provide a secure mounting point for the support posts. I believe the instructions are reasonably written and easy to follow. During assembly I added the reinforcement cabling to add more stability for wind loads. I also added screws to hold the supports to the base plates. Still plan to add cables between the supports to increase snowload capability.

Well worth the price

This is my second Hercules Canopy w/ Sidewalls - 10' x 20' that I have owned. The first unit lasted over 5 years and might still be using it but a tree fell on it. We live in Wisconsin and get some heavy snow but have never had a problem. I bought ratchet straps and installed four going between the right and left sides where the legs meet the top. That keeps the sides from bowing out and holds the snow. This new unit is nicer with the side walls adding the flaps to wrap around to seal off the ends but I found the sides were about 6-9 inches too short! By bringing the end legs in a little bit I could Velcro the flaps on the bottom but not the top. I store a pontoon boat and tie the rails where I attached the straps to the pontoon rails and it keeps the wind from moving the canopy. I also use 12" tent stakes to hold the feet in place. It is very well built. I bought the heavy duty with all 2" rails. Well worth the upgrade.
