Thank you General Tire!

I typically look for an inexpensive tire, and as the saying goes ""you get what you pay for"" so I don't expect much.  I got tired (pardon the pun) of similarly iffy performance and value from the likes of Pirelli, Dunlop and ESPECIALLY Firestone.  So I figured I would give GT a shot at earning my business.  I'm on my third full set of four and my second car and don't intend to look back!

I wouldn't buy these again for a Kia Sorento at least.

We had General Grabbers on our Sorento when we purchased it. They were really good tires along of grip in most road conditions etc...  after having these tires on the car for almost 4 years she decided before winter that 4/32 wasn't enough tread to go through PA winter. We decided to purchase General Altimax RT43 because of the success the General Grabbers had. The Altimax 43 did just as good with almost all of the conditions the Grabbers went through. However the Altimax didn't last long at all. About 20k miles and 2.5 years later they need replaced. I actually kept the Grabbers in the shed incase I needed them. I am glad I did because the tires altimax barely have water channels left. I am very disappointed with how long these tires have lasted. Going through the warranty replacement is no fun either as we are supposed to go back to where we bought them and they'd prorate them. That's kind of ridiculous to me.

throwing out alignment

As i say we installed these and the car at once started to pull to the left.So i went to a garage to check for front end issues he claimed they were fine so he put the right front on the left and vise versa and know it pulls to the left?? bad tires?, i checked them all to make sure they were the same size and now am experimenting with running 1 a bit higher psi to try and correct it.Car is a dodge journey r/t awd,53k miles.

Better than advertised.

I bought 4 replacement tires each for 2 of my cars (Honda Odyssey and CRV) within the last year because I owned them before. The previous set on my Acura TL looked brand new with very little wear when I sold the car after 28,000 miles. The new sets are less than 1 year old and have ~5,000 miles on them. The ride on these tires, as on the previous set, is so unbelievably smooth and comfortable that you are lulled into sleep. They buffer the bumps on the roads better than any other sets I had on my cars including Bridgestones and Michelins. You almost get addicted to the ride. If you couple these features with better than average handling on wet/snowy roads, excellent mileage warranty of 65,000 - 75,000 and an exceptional price, it is almost criminal to buy any other brand of tires for your personal/family driving needs.

excellent in inclement weather

We live in Southern California and bought new tires in preparation for a Thanksgiving trip through Utah and into Oregon.  Sure enough we hit snow at one of the higher passes and we made it through safely - with more than 50 cars on our side of the road that had slid off the road.  We were very grateful.

Very Good tires so far

Have put about 4000 miles on them so far. I can really tell the difference on the road. They are a lot better than the original equipment. They seem to hug the road, especially on curves. Very reminiscent of the Corvette I owned 15 years ago. We'll see this winter how they do on snow and ice

One of the best set of tires that I have owned.

Bought these tires about 3 weeks ago for a trip from OH to FL on our mini van.  The trip down was dry weather and the ride was very quiet and smooth.  The way back home however was down pour and high cross winds.  The tires really held up during that trip.  I hit standing water on the freeway going about 60 mph at about 11:30PM, scared me, but noticed that the van held it's grip to the road.  If I had to do it all over again I would and will buy these tires in the future.

Great riding tires

This set of tires has been great so far! There's a small wobble around 60-63 MPH and 73-75 MPH. Also, when driving in rainy conditions, the sound of the displaced water hitting the inside of the wheelwells, was a bit concerning. Not sure if that was necessarily a bad thing. That seems to have settled as the milage on the tires has increased.

80% snowtires, amazing dry performance

Bought this pair of tires before the 2017 winter season to replace summers on my 2017 WRX. Since then I have driven them through blizzards to Mammoth; unpaved snow on I-80 white-outs after CHP closed off all on-ramps to Donner Pass. With of course some caution, have never gotten in trouble. Straight-line/down-hill stopping distance in snow/ice conditions leave some to be desired but they are not snow-tires. By far one of the best all-seasons I've had, with mild compromise on dry and snow conditions compared to dedicated snow tires and dunlop summers.

Not perfect(no tire is), but a solid perfomer

I drive 75,000 miles plus a year since Sept. I have over 30,000 on the set. Good in winter Good in the wet when new...road noise is ok and the feel is sporty. I run them at 40psi cause they feel too mushy for me at 35psi. To get any life you must rotate every 10,000miles and keep psi constant, you'll meet the recommended 50k but the tire after 40k sucks in the wet and will not make a winter. So the last 10k better come in the summer and you have to be concerned on rain days.
