Overall quality is what I expected. I already own 2 other Vizio sets a 37" and a 70". My concern is with distorted audio at low volume. Tried lowering and raising the volume supplied by cable box but problem remains the same. Neither of my other sets have this issue.

Great tv

I bought this for my bedroom. When I took it out of the box I thought it was extremely small. I have an older 32” Vizio which is thicker, taller, and heavier. But Once it was set up ana I got to see the picture quality it feels just like it is the same size as the old one. I love that many Cast apps are preinstalled and that the set allows for some customization. It's a great tv ana the price point is excellent.

Big bang for my buck! Great features and wi fi works seamlessly Smart cast is nice and my fire tv works well with this unit. ( I am used to the menu on my fire tv ) This model has a 120 refresh rate compared to the other d series D 50e model which has a 60 Did not need 4 k, did not need the few extra features of the E series 50" model

When I had a problem with another model VIZIO TV I called Vizio support. They were very helpful but my TV was still not functioning. The next day I received a call from customer service and a man named Ken helped me to procur this new 50” D-series VIZIO. Not only was the new VIZIO a great deal, it arrived the next day! Beautiful display, features need refinement

First - the picture quality of this this TV is wonderful. It's just what I wanted: a small TV that still has high resolution (1080p) and refresh (60hz). This is a wall mounted kitchen TV, so I didn't need anything huge or ultra HD; primarily I'll use it for sports on the weekend, news while cooking, and the occasional kids show. While the picture quality is just what I need, the remote is frustratingly touchy and/or unresponsive. Simple actions, like changing inputs or typing in a channel, are frustratingly difficult. The buttons don't have much height to them, are hard to locate, and don't respond reliably. In short, it feels like a cheap interface and it doesn't perform to expectations. The Smart features of the TV feel weak so far. I was really hoping to have a TV with everything built in; this is a wall mounted kitchen TV with no room for peripherals, dongles, etc, but I'm disappointed in the sluggish performance of the built in features. Startup is slow, and we've had problems with the TV remembering our WiFi. It's frustrating and makes me want to connect a Roku. And finally, the biggest reason I bought this TV vs. others in its class was for the built in Chromecast. It's a wonderful idea, and would perfect for where I'm putting the TV - no dongle, no power cord. I just wished it worked better and with the same functionality as a real, external Chromecast device. Specifically, I am finding screen casting of my Android phone to this TV to be slow and laggy. My WiFi signal is very strong where the TV is so that doesn't seem to be the reason. And, I am forced to resort to screen casting because the Vizio built in Chromecast is often not recognized by my phone or by specific apps on my phone, like YouTube and Watch ESPN. WatchESPN specifically is NOT compatible with Vizio smartcast TVs; this is a known issue, as I have discovered, but it's very frustrating as watching sports via cast while I cook and clean was one of the main reasons I bought this TV in the first place. I have another standalone Chromecast in the house and can perform direct comparisons; so far, the built in "Chromecast" just isn't as good. Disappointing. Maybe I'll plug it in to this time when I need it, but I was hoping to avoid the hassle of moving my dongle from TV to TV. I'll continue to investigate and with with the TV. Maybe it'll get better? Long story short, first month impressions: great picture, features not to to par.

Thank you for your feedback. We are aware that content from the WatchESPN and ABC App is being blocked from casting to TVs and Displays with Google Chromecast built-in. This is a known issue with Google, and not a result of any technical issue with VIZIO SmartCast displays. We hope Google will be able to resolve the issue in a swift manner.

This tv has a quality picture with the different picture modes. The remote is uncomfortable but light. Should have been backlit and rubberized.. Fairly easy to use apps. Should have been more built in like Pandora and Utube. The casting ability is nice but only certain apps have it. The price is right.

I have bought six TV's ranging in size from 60” to 32” Vizio's over the years. I've on had one actually breakdown and that was my first one with I owned for over 10 years. Since then I have bought Vizio. They are excellent quality for the price and have all the latest features. Very easy to set up. Two of the ones I've bought I have given away and replaced them with new larger ones. I just purchased the 32” one for my Grandkids Playroom. It still had a TV with a Tube in it, so I got the new one so they could watch Netflix and other things in there Playroom. I am very pleased with all my purchases from Vizio.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My “new Vizio” 42 inch tv of only 4 years went black screen. It was just out of the 4 year warranty law in the state of Maine. I was upset with this because I expected it to last longer. After calling Vizio they decided to send me the new model at a good price which was much less than repairing the old. I was very happy when it was delivered to my door & set up.

Unexpected Greatness

I purchased this TV about a month ago and I'm still finding awesome features that it can do. My favorite feature is that I can stream Rifftrax from my Chomebook and my wife and I can pause the playback and adjust the volume using our Android phones. Very versatile TV. I had some trouble with the TV loosing the Internet connect daily after turning on in the evenings. I found that changing the channel and channel width from 40 to 20 on my WiFi router and changing the TV from DHCP to Manual network fixed it. I also found a review for color calibration settings and applied those settings and manual adjustments. The colors and crispness of the display are impressive.
