I purchased this air conditionar during the heat wave this summer. It was wonderful. My bedroom is on the top floor and gets really hot. The air conditioner cooled my room quickly. So happy with my purchase.

I like the "Econo" setting.It is louder than I expected and kept me awake on the regular cool, low fan setting. So I put it on Econo and it runs a needed. I'm getting much better sleep, now.

This is easy to install on window and great for a small apt. or large room, cools quickly and quiet, love the remote control and overall a nice reliable unit.

Pennsylvania didn't get much of a "summer" this year. But we had plenty of hot and humid stormy days, and this unit did an excellent job keeping us comfortable.

1-12-14 Just bought this for a 280 square foot room....8000 btu is more than enough for what we needed.....had it installed and the air flow knobs do NOT turn downward...only UP and SIDEWAYS.....we put the unit up high out of the way and now it cools the ceiling basically,.....does not have a dehumidifier either......

I gave this unit a 4 overall. It definitely blasts out cold air even with the fan setting on low. This unit is worth the $200, and will definitely be an energy saver. The reason that I gave this an overall 4 was that there was a slight "out of the box" odor coming out when i first turned the unit on. I just put some air freshener near the front of it, and this fixed the problem. Site-to-store was fast and reliable.

The air conditioner cools my room, but there are too many opening and I am getting a lot of bugs in my bedroom every time I turn the light on at night. I wish I had returned this unit. There are small gaps between the extension panels and the air conditioner itself (no way to remedy that). There is a gap between the air conditioner and the top rail. I get several bugs entering there. My only thought is that maybe the screws holding the top rail are not screwed tight enough. I am going to have to do some caulking to keep the bugs out. I am not sure of any other way to remedy the bug problem. I did not have a problem with bugs getting in with my 14 year old GE air conditioner. The Frigidaire air conditioner is noisy too. When I put it on high, the force of the air is just too much noise for me. When I put it on low, it almost sounds like it is raining outside. Unfortunately, the manual says that these are all normal noises for this unit. The beeping that other people talked about is loud, but it does not bother me because it only beeps when you adjust it.
