This A/C exceeded my expectations - it was easy to remove from the box and comparatively easy to install even with my 100 year old windows. The features are super - I like the energy saver feature and that I can select an exact temperature.

i think this is a good product. it is a little hard at first to fiquire out which remote opition fits best. only downside is the beeping of unit or remote everytime you adjust the unit. my husband complains it wakes him if i use it at night. have night sweats so i am always turning it up and down. wish i could turn off the beeping.

Relief at last

I bought this unit to replace a 6000 btu unit that was about 4yrs old. The 6000btu unit could not keep up and the room would get warm even with it running all day long. The 8000btu unit is much colder and I can't keep it on high because it gets to cold. The unit is in my bedroom and is lounder than the smaller unit but I just turn down the fan speed and its about the same. This unit moves much more air and cools the room faster. I'm not sure how I like the remote but it seems to work fine for now. Overall I am very pleased with the purchase. W.B. in New Orleans

I think it works?

I do like the features on this AC and the remote that allows reading the temp, but even on the lowest cool setting it's still not cool enough for my 275sq living room/kitchen, I have to also use a few fans 1 on my desk and by the tv. Maybe it's because I live in a brick building and the heat insulates too well inside? and I'm also on the top floor so I get heat from the roof also. Anyway, I'm keeping it because it is much better than just having fans.

Super easy to install

Purchased this unit to replace an older Frigidaire window unit and I have to say it was the easiest install that I have ever done. Not to mention this unit is very small/lightweight. I do believe the thermostat in the remote is more of a gimmick and would like to see what the actual room temperature on the unit as well (it only shows what the setting is). In order for the remote thermostat function to work correctly it has to be placed in line of sight of the unit so it can tell the AC to turn on and off. However it does cool well and I can't wait to see if it being Energy Star rated makes a difference on my electric bill.

Great compact in size to be 8,000 BTU's!

Even though we had a roof unit on our camper that continuously ran (thermostat problem), we thought about installing this window unit. We did purchase and install above the sink area which fit perfectly with no cutting. Cools great, especially in the front part of the camper. We may have to use a fan to blow the air down the hall to the bedroom, as it's doesn't get cool enough in the back of the camper. I still think this A/C will work great even on the hottest days, even if I have to run the overhead unit at the same time. Love the fact that you can move the vents in different directions and if your washing dishes, you definately want to turn them away from you as you will freeze :)

Good technology and effective

Comments: - digital controls and options (eco mode, clean air) with digital display - remote with remote temp sensing (and digital display) - powerful (handles our space of 350ft+ easily, our environment only gets to max of 90F and this unit keeps temp <74F easily) - energy efficient - easy to fit - even on the lowest setting it's a little louder that I hoped, but I'm okay with the rest of the features and the power - great value for the price we paid

Ice cold air

Replaced a 6000 btu a/c with this 8000 btu unit because the smalller one couldn't bring the temp down to set point. The Frigidaire does this with ease and is much quieter and also doesn't drip outside. Also much more programable options. Shipping cost a whopping .97 cents and was prompt and in great condition. this is a great unit for our bedroom.

Great price, very cool!

I love it! The price is great. After I got it, I saw the exact same model at Best Buy for $60.00 more. Some reviews say it is noisy, but I don't find it any noisier than most AC's. I upgraded from a 5,000 BTU that I had to have on for hours and did not do a good job at all. This ones cools right away, and with the help of a fan keeps my room and another attached work room nice and comfortable. I love the remote control, and that everything can be programmed- time, temperature, etc. This is great for my dog on super hot days. I can leave it on for him, and know it will turn off and on again, on its own later, which saves money. For the price, can't ask for more.

Worth the price!

I bought this air conditioner for my bedroom which is fairly large with a high ceiling. It cools very well with the bedroom door closed. My only complaint is that it's quite a bit louder than expected and I can't hear the doorbell with the bedroom door closed & the air running. I plan to purchase a louder doorbell for next summer (since this summer is about over, I'll wait till then). I do feel like I got a good deal as far as cooling the room is concerned though.
