I give this detergent 4 stars simply on the fact that I wasn't a huge fan of the scent of my clothing after washing it. It did a great job cleaning the clothes. My kids' clothes are magnets for food, grass and dirt stains too. I received 3 free samples and used them all in a row to make sure that my review was accurate and valid.

Both of my young sons and husband suffer from sensitive skin and one of my sons has skin prone to eczema. I am always a little hesitant to try a new product such as laundry detergent for fear of a break out or flare up, but I'm so glad I was given a free sample of Seventh Generation's Free & Clear laundry soap to try. Worked great and absolutely no fragrance or odor!

Detergent smells wonderful. Cleaned like a champ!. I would recommend this product to everyone. I received this for free! Smells fantastic! The lavender scent provided an afternoon of a meadow in my house. The clothing came out clean, fresh and softer than with my usual detergent. I would recommend this detergent to everyone. I am really picky about my laundry detergent...the smell, the cleaning power and the impact on the envirionment. I haven't found something that works just as good as it smells. Seems to be an effective laundry detergent that cleans my clothes and I love the lavender scent it is so relaxing. I would fully buy this for sure, I think its a keeper! I received complimentary Seventh Generation laundry detergent in Fresh Lavender Scent recently from a Seventh Generation campaign to try out. I love the calming aroma of lavender, made from 100% essential oils and botanical ingredients. My only complaint about the fragrance is that I noticed it dissipated by the time my clothes were out of the dryer (I really would have loved to have enjoyed it throughout the day on my clothes). I like that this product does not have any synthetic fragrances, dyes or artificial brighteners. It was easy to use and didn't require much of the detergent to wash one load. I also like that Seventh Generation's detergent is septic safe, 97% USDA certified biobased, and that the ingredients are explained on the back of the packaging. I would definitely try this brand again. I love how soft it left my clothes!

It's got a very natural fragrance that's quite noticeable when I'm using it, but it fades a bit after the clothes are washed and dried. It did a great job of cleaning the towels and clothes I washed. I can feel good using it knowing that it doesn't have any synthetic fragrances, dyes or artificial brighteners, and it's ingredients are 97% bio based (plant-derived, plant-based and mineral-based). I received my 3 pack sample and I really am happy with the scent and it did the job in getting everything clean. I used one sample pack to wash sheets and it smelled like a spa when I went to bed. So I guess it would depend on who was trying this for an opinion. For someone who uses natural products as much as possible I say it was just like using laundry detergent. The consistency, how it cleaned is what I'd expect. If I wasn't used to natural detergent I'd be amazed because it cleans just like regular non plant detergent. Sometimes it's hard to get the quality that we've come used to as our normal and it seems most natural things don't work well. Well when I was first into natural years ago it felt that way for me. The smell doesn't last which was disappointing, but overall a great detergent

I tried Seventh Generation Free and Clear for the first time as a free sample product.I love how soft my clothes were on my skin after using.I love that it is made with natural ingredients, but the stain removing power was still present.I feel better and safer when using this detergent more so than my previous brands.

Always have enjoyed this brand from cleani bf supplies to detergent.
