The answer to our problem!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Our master bedroom is connected to the master bathroom causing way too much humidity. This dehumidifier takes care of our problem by only running it at night. I love that we can set it for the percent of humidity that we want.

Works Great

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this dehumidifier because there was a recall on the one I had. This one seems to pull so much more water out of the air and I love the fact that I can hook a hose up to it and run the water to a drain as compared to emptying the tub every couple days or more in summer humidity..

Reliable

I purchased unit over 2-months ago and it has been has been running flawlessly in my basement recreation/office room. Originally started using manual bucket emptying but later switched over to a drain hose into basement drain. Both worked. The unit is set to run automatically until the humidity drops to a preset level. This has also worked with NO problems. It is summer and the outside humidity is normally 80 to 90%, but is 50% in my office area thanks to the dehumidifier. This has been a great unit and I am happy that I choose it.

Best appliance we have ever purchased!

We have had this about 3 months now and can absolutely say that it has made our home environment much more comfortable. It dries our air out so much that we are able to run our AC at 3 - 4 degrees warmer, which has helped our electric bill. We live in Florida, so we know all about humidity. It is slightly noisey, that is actually soothing and we got used to it right away. I would highly recommend this product to anyone that has a high humidity problem in there home. Love this product!

Just adequate for 2500 Sq Ft dry basement

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've had the 50 pint dehumidifier in my basement for two months and live in a humid environment near Atlanta, Georgia. Basement has always been dry and I painted the walls exposed to outside soil with water sealer paint. I normally run the humidifier with 55% humidity selection and it ran nicely with periods of turn off after reaching it's setting. No musty smells. Readings taken with dry bulb and wet bulb thermometers showed 55% humidity level as expected. To check the best humidity removal I set the maximum humidity removal at 45%. Measuring the result showed 47.7 % room humidity as taken at the front of the dehumidifier. The power use over 49.5 hours was 19.4 kWH which equates to 9.3kWH over 24 hours, or roughly 9 cents a day. My bottom line is I prefer 50% room humidity and this unit just makes it. For an extra cushion of performance next time I will get a 70 pint dehumidifier. My last Frigidaire lasted only three years. I'm keeping my fingers crossed this one will last longer.

Sucks the air dry

This de-humidifier is such a blessing. We have had nothing but rain for weeks and the house was getting that smell - mold. We have emptied the full collection bin twice a day and then finally set it up in the shower so it could just use the drain. It generates quite a lot of heat so I'm glad I'm not in the same room with it. It makes a good amount of noise too. Because it works so hard I don't expect it to live a long life but it is a necessary product Kittand we will repurchase unit when it fails. BUT - it does it's job and it does it great. Beats having to burn the house down because the mold took over!

So far, so good

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this unit in July,2019. So far, so good. Very easy set-up when connecting to a drain hose. It used to be that a dehumidifier would last 15-20 years. The last GE unit I purchased suffered compressor failure twice, first at 3 mos. And then again at 20 months. Let's hope the Fridginaire unit fairs better.

Frigidaire FAD504DWD 50 pt.

I purchased this dehumidifier after reading other reviews . Seems like a dehumidifier does not have a very long life , so I bought a 3 year service plan with mine also . The reason for buying mine was , I noticed some rust on some of my tools that I had in two different bedrooms . I stored them in the bedrooms rust free in September . I had turned of the AC because we were having unseasonable mild weather for Va . this September . When I went to use them again in November , I notice rust . The heat was on by this time . I was curious what the humidity was in the house . When I plugged the unit in , it read 55 RHD . ( not to bad ) . I set the unit on 50, it ran for about 5 mins. and pulled that room down to 50 RHD. . I have not heard it come on since . The room stayed at 50 for a few weeks now , I saw it once at 45 , then back to 50 . As I am typing this ( in the AM ) very cold outside so the heatpump is running hard , it is reading 40 RHD . this morning . Some people complain about the fan not ever shutting off after the compressor shuts off . I know this is not the season for a dehumidifier , but my fan shuts off and seems to work excellent . I guess this summer will be the true test . I am now going to unplug mine for the winter , since the RHD is down below 50 . Mine is being used in a 1300 sq. ft. house , in one bedroom with all the doors opened . I have not seen any rust since , I think it must have happened in the two months that I didn't have the AC on .

Powerful purchase!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This new unit replaced an old and out dated de-humidifier. After a 24 hour period of operating the new unit I realized how inefficient the old unit was as the new unit pulled an incredible amount of moisture from the air and dried the entire basement. Powerful and efficient performance at a reasonable price point.

Dry basement

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Just bought around a month and seems to keep my 900 sq. foot basement dry. But the true test will be in the summer. The humidity gage seems to be a little off. My gage reads a little lower. The specs say I have 3 speeds, but I only have 2. This unit uses a lot less electricity then my old unit. So in the end I'm glad I bought it.
