Removes humidity well, but the fan runs 24x7. The compressor cycles on and off as needed to remove humidity, but the fan stays on constantly 24 hours a day. Granted the compressor does use 90% of the power. I had to fight with Frigidaire for some time to get them to explain why the fans ran 24 hrs a day. I kept asking them if my unit was working OK because fans run 24x7, their reply was: “If the unit is removing humidity, then its work OK. They would not tell me if the fan was supposed to run 24x7 or not. I rate Frigidaire very in answering technical detail questions. Turns out it's designed that way, to keep the air moving in the room and to keep the coils from freezing up, I guess that could be a good thing, but I did not care for it. Several manufacture are now moving to fans running 24x7, so you need to ask before you buy if that bothers you as it did me. Friedrich (not Frigidaire) started making their dehumidifiers this way, but customers complained, so they did away with it. I returned the unit and bought a GE ADEL50LR at Home Depot (they matched Wal-Mart's online price). The GE fan only stays on for 2-3 minutes after the compressor shuts off, this is to insure the coils do not freeze up. GE customer support was very helpful and knowledgeable in technical details.

Having spent a considerable amount of money on metal fitness equipment, I wanted to protect my investment. I've been nothing short of satisfied since I bought this machine! In the Summertime it gets extremely humid where I live and it has no issue maintaining the humidity between 50-60 percent in a 500 square foot space. At first I had concerns about not having a plan to run a drainage hose, however, the H2O bin is fairly large and takes 1-2 days to fill up. It is an absolute breeze to empty, so I have just worked it into my daily routine. My buddy has two of these, one for the garage and one inside the house and both have been running well for the last 4 years. The air filter is also fairly easy to keep clean. I would highly recommend this product to anyone looking for a quality product with a good lifespan and minimal hassle.

We leased it online and had we been able to check it out first probably wouldn't have because the condo felt damp and smelled. We immediately went online to check out dehumidifiers and this one got great reviews and understandably so. Within hours the smell was night and day and it had pulled out sooooo much water. It's very easy to use, not too loud when running and easy to dump the water. We couldn't be happier with this purchase. I told the owner of the condo about it and she offered to buy it from us to have for future use but we're keeping it!!

This dehumidifier runs very quietly and very efficiently. The water collector is easy to load and unload, and the full indicator light and buzzer is very helpful in knowing when to empty it. The moisture gauge in my basement has indicated an "ideal range" ever since I've started using this unit.

I bought this a week ago and I needed this dehumidifier to control the moisture in my basement. It worked great with no headache. The only thing i thought was wrong was that the fan runs even when the dehumidifier is not working to has stopped. It would be nice to have an option that allows the owner to turn the fan off when not needed.

I've been using this is our home's lower level for the past month and it has done a good job keeping it at the desired humidity level. Definitely follow the instructions and leave it run constantly for the first 4-5 days as this will give it time to reduce the ambient humidity in the room (and not just the air humidity).

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Problems--I miss the old-style buckets, which were bigger and much easier to empty. They also were very easy to clean. I think this one qwould be imppssible to clean, should mold or other gunk get in the very small bucket. Also, the bucket has screws on top. No matter what, over time they will rust.
