Does it's job

Does what it is made to do efficiently drying out my basement. I have the option to use it on a timer or leave it on until my basement reaches the desired humidity level. The bucket is easy to dump but I suggest attaching a hose so you don't have to worry about emptying the unit.

Does the job

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I moved to the east and for a few years did not know I needed one of these. .We have a small house, but the container fills every day. A little noisy, and water reservoir goes in and out a little difficult. Still worth it for the job it does.

Great unit, but one major flaw

The unit appears to be nicely built and it definitely reduces the humidity in my basement. However, it has a significant flaw in the inaccuracy of the humidistat (hygrometer). My unit's humidistat is reading a humidity level of 55% when two portable hygrometer's I have nearby are reading near 40. So I have learned to set my dehumidifier at 55% if I want to maintain an actual 40% humidity level. Too bad since otherwise this is an excellent unit.

Easy installation! Great features!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought the dehumidifier about a month ago to replace an off brand one I got at a big box home improvement store several years ago. The Frigidaire unit is much quieter. The installation was a breeze. I have it draining to a floor drain in my basement. The hook up for drain water was really easy and secure unlike my old unit that had a hose connection prone to pulling out. I really like the exhaust air going straight up out the top instead of out the back. Perfect for my situation in a corner.

Good machine but unnecessary vibration noise

This machine replaces the earlier model of the same size which lasted six years before the bearings wore out and the vibration noise became intolerable. However, I would recommend this machine for basement use only due to the vibration noise even when new from the plastic housing and handle which can be stopped only by pressing on the housing. I'd be willing to pay $100 more for a really quiet machine. Frigidaire needs to find a way to prevent this noise with rubber mounts and/or perhaps insulation. Their fridges don't make this kind of noise, so why should the dehumidifier?

So far, so good!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The dehumidifier was delivered about three weeks ago and has been drawing down moisture quite nicely. It's developed a bit of buzzy noise (plastic parts vibrating) but other than that, it's doing what it is supposed to do!

Doing a Great Job

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Our basement took on water from five inches of rain in an hour. We bought this model and are happy we did. It's doing a great job taking water out of the basement air for us. We especially appreciated the fact that we had a choice to hook up a hose and drain it directly into our drain instead of having to keep emptying it. Although it's not especially quiet, it's not as noisy as older models we've had in the past.

Good quality and works great!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My wife and I bought this medium dehumidifier for our home not knowing if it would work in our large basement area. Since we've been using it it has worked great without any issues at all. We set it to continuous run and have noticed that it does not utilize much energy to operate. I like how well it's made and we enjoy the performance this unit provides us. Thank you, JB

Great Dehumidiifier

Works well, runs very quietly. Just what we needed for our basement family room. We have to empty the bucket as we do not have the set up to use a hose. That is not a problem, as the bucket is not that heavy. We received our dehumidifier in 2 days with no shipping fee! Great value!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Frigidaire 50 pint capacity dehumidifier is the more handsome of the model I have seen and will just as easily handle mold and mildew problems, leaving you with a drier atmosphere. In addition, its energy efficiency is evident in my unchanged electric bill!
