I had to buy a new dehumidifier because my old one was part of a recall. This new one seems like it runs a lot to get to the humidity level I set it at compared to my other one. It is quiet. I also think the humidity level that you set it at is not accurate as indicated in other reviews. I had to turn it down lower (45%) to get the humidity level at 55%. Never had this problem with my other one. So in reviewing this humidifier I would suggest to someone to buy perhaps a different brand that hopefully wouldn't run so much and would be more accurate with its readings

Only had it fired up for a week or two, but it seems to be better than expected. Most reviews on various web sites rate this model as superior. At this point, I'd have to concur. It is quieter than expected. At least much quieter than my old DeLonghi. It also pulls out the humidity from my 900 square foot 1/2 basement MUCH faster than anticipated. I turn the machine on and set the unit's humidistat for 50. When the humidity reaches 55+/- on my separate humidistat, I shut the machine down. When the humidity climbs to 60+, I turn it on again., and so on and so forth. At night, I shut it down till the AM. I did this with the Delonghi and the machine lasted almost 5 years before it failed (slow coolant leak).

This product arrived earlier than expected; kudos to Walmart and ups. This product worked out of box. It is quiet and durable. This product rates the current humidity (which I have not checked if it gives an accurate amount) and let's you choose your desired humidity. You can set a timer for this product or let it run continuous. The tank is fairly large, I ran it for 12 hours and did not have to empty it quite yet. You can also attach a hose and not worry about emptying the tank.

I was pleased to read the instructions copyright by Electrolux in 2009. Thus the product has been a success for at least five years. It is doing a nice job, keeping my humidity at 55 degrees. With the fan on high the water bucket fills up and the fan turns off during the night. So I run the fan on low when I go to bed and the unit is still running in the morning. My biggest concern was that FedEx left it outside my door, without ringing my door bell, so when I found it, the box was up side down. I took dehumidifier out of the box and set it upright and waited until the next day to start it running. It works very well.

This was a first "major" purchase I have made from Wal*Mart since being let go as a former employee of Sears. I must say, this is why Sears is going broke! A great turn around for the delivery time and a better product that those sold by Sears! I couldn't find this item anywhere around my area so this was my last choice and it arrived a lot faster than expected. Great job Wal*Mart!

I purchased this item based on online reviews of several dehumidifiers. This is my first dehumidifier so I have nothing to compare to. Frigidaire does, however, have a very good reputation in the appliance world. The unit seems very effective at lowering room humidity and is relatively quiet on the high fan setting. It is not annoying to be in the room while the dehumidifier is running…and I am very sensitive to “noise”. I may update this review at some point if I note either positive or negative points after I've had the unit for a while.

The unit does dehumidify properly and will shut off once the set point is reached. However, after several minutes the fan runs for several seconds to check for room humidity. This occurs every couple of minutes until the humidity increases and the unit restarts. If unit is in an occupied space this constant noise may be an issue. I checked with customer service and they stated it was normal operations.

I ordered unit and the 3 year warrantee on a Thursday around 4:30 pm. I was shocked to find it delivered very next day at 2:30pm!!! =D The unit cleared up the humidity in our basement within 3 days after running on "CO" mode. The basement no longer smells like "basement". I recommend the 50 pint, any smaller and you'll be emptying out the bucket at least once a day and any larger the bucket will be too heavy to empty. We empty our bucket once a day and it is about 80% full. I liked this unit so much that I recommended it to my parents! They also purchased it with the 3 year warrantee which makes sense if you plan on running unit 24/7. ~2 thumbs up so far~

I have been using this dehumidifier a few weeks now and it is far superior to the LG that I replaced. Really pulls the moisture out of the air and I find myself emptying the container twice a day. Has a powerful fan that pushes the dry air back into the room. My basement is much improved by it.

Reduced humidity in 1900 square foot basement in 2 days. Unit is relatively quiet. I do recommend the hose attachment for continuous draining as the 50 pint bucket fills quickly when humidity is high. My only problem was positioning the unit to directly plug into an electrical outlet without using an extension cord as my basement has limited wired outlets.
