Does great job.

Works great, top of the line machine, does what is claimed by manufacturers. Only disappointment is the timer. As a top of the line machine, the timer should be infinitely more sophisticated. We should NOT have to turn it on two or three times a day and reset the timer each time when using the device with a hose and drain. Also they're manual is pathetic on this issue alone. Even customer service couldn't figure the manual out. Otherwise happy ...

The Best So Far and Hopefully Most Reliable

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] There are two feature that stand out on this unit: it's quiet and the display toggles from set point to room humidity. Two features that you would expect in all models but this is the first to provide them and I have yet to get two years out of other brands. Time will tell if there is a third outstanding feature.

Great product

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been using the dehumidifier for a few months and it has worked great so far. The only item I would like to see would be a cycling option so that it could run off and on for either 2 or 4 hours.

Second purchase of an excellent product

Our first Frigidaire ENERGY STAR 50-Pint Dehumidifier ran continuously for more than five years without a break. We were extremely happy with it. Easy to empty the collection container and clean the filter. It pulled astounding volumes of water from our basement and was able to maintain the humidity level at well below 50% for all of that time, even when the environment was cold. We recently noticed it was becoming less efficient, so ordered this as a replacement so we'd have it before complete failure. The FAD504DWD has turned out to be a near exact replacement, and we have no reason to believe this one will not last for more than five years as well.

Works as advertised, so far so good.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've only had this dehumidifier around a month now and so far so good. I use it in a 2000 sq ft basement which is one big open space. Winter has been cold and dry and relative humidity is around 50, however recent rains have risen it to 60-70 and this thing chugs away. Since the rise in humidity I attached a garden hose for continuous draining into a floor drain since it would fill up in less than a day... which is good. The only complaint is that sometimes there can be a slight vibration which can rattle the bucket a little causing excess noise, nothing a little tapping here and there can't fix, and it's really not an issue since we use this in the basement. A little tape on the bucket might do the trick.

Control Humidity

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this unit to control the humidity in my home. Humidity in Houston is always high and especially during the winter the condensing of moisture on windows is problematic. Without adequate control moisture around windows can collect on window sill and get absorbed into drywall.

Good Little Dehumidifier

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had to replace my 15-year-old clunky dehumidifier this past summer. I needed something that could absorb the moisture in my tuck-under garage. After researching various models and sizes, this one does the trick! It's light-weight and so much more quiet than my old one! And I even figured how to easily attach a hose to let it drain constantly. I would recommend this highly.

works good

Our first unit worked well. Bought locally at an appliance dealer. The unit ran very well the first year. We turned it off in winter but when we turned it back on in spring, the coils froze up continually and would not pull moisture from the air. We contacted the local dealer and they looked into it and the warranty on the unit ran out by a couple of weeks. However the exteneded part of the warranty was still good and Frigidaire replaced the unit without hassles. New unit is running very well.

excellent dehumidifier

I bought this several months ago for the 1000 sq ft basement of our new house. It does a fine job and is easy to empty. I haven't connected it by hose to drain yet (and won't till we've remodeled), but I'm sure that would work well. Emptying it manually is a piece of cake.

Excellent purchase.

I live in the south where it is very humid. I needed a dehumidifier that I would not have to be checking all the time, as we are a busy household. This has an automatic shut off when the reservoir is full. It even has a timer if you only want it to run at certain times of the day. I am very pleased with this unit.
